Brenda Cacucci Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Dr. Cacucci seemed very nice; I liked her immediately and felt comfortable with her. Her presentation was extremely informative, and I felt she was honest and open about exactly what procedure she does, why she feels it is best, and why she doesn't do the other procedures. She was very patient and thorough in answering our questions. Her office staff was very nice and also very professional. The only thing that made me a little uncomfortable about her is that she seems so young! She emphasized aftercare as being probably the most important part of the surgery. She was very honest about the risks of surgery and explained all the things that could possibly go wrong.
I think both surgical competence and bedside manner are extremely important.
Overall, I was impressed with her, and left there feeling very encouraged.

Young and pregnant.I have to say it seemed like a normal office visit.I was educated on the surgery and pre and post operation program,surgery risks,diet.I am not sure if she will do the surgery because of her pregnancy.I will update who does it if she does'nt.

I haven't met her yet but I do have my consult date of April 7th. I'm excited!!

I wasn't sure about Dr Cacucci I when I first met her. She is young and soft spoken. As I listen to her at the counceltation, she is very knowledgeable and very personable. The office staff is very kind and I have never had a problem when speaking with them. Dr Cacucci has been very helpful and compationate, expecially since my set back with a leak. She was great with sharing information with my family after both surgeries. Her after program is in coordiated with the Bariatric Center and she insists on the after care and support group. I would highly recommend Dr Cacucci or any of the doctors at Carmel Sugical Specialist. They are competant and very knowledgeable. Dr Cacucci is great on both sides of the surgical competence and bedside manner.

My first impression was, WOW! She looks very young.
As Dr. Cacucci began to go into detail about the surgery,risks, and the different options that were available I began to get more relaxed.
She was very thourough and seemed to be very competent in what she was discussing. I took every opportunity available to get all of my questions answered and she seemed to be very patient in answering every last question I had.
Just from phone conversations Heather seems to be very nice.
Dr. Cacucci was very matter a fact about aftercare. It was not an option.
So far I would rate her pretty high. I know with God being my Source everything will go great.
I would say that surgical competence as well as beside manner were both very important.

Hi, I had lap/rny on Dec. 26, 2002, and I thought Dr. Cacucci very competant. I had hardly any pain after surgery, They kicked me out of ICU early and sent me to the Med/Surg ward, they needed the bed for someone else, they said I was doing so super. Dr. Cacicci seems sort of shy, but she knows what she is doing.

I enjoyed the group consult with Dr. Cacucci. She was very informative, however, she did not tell me anything that I had not already learned off of this site. Our one on one was great. She was very informative with my personal questions and felt I would do awesome with the LAP procedure.
I liked the way that she spent a lot of time going over the risks of the surgery and some problems that could occure. She also had us take a test to make sure we understood all of the risks, as well as the information she had just told us. We also had to sign a form that let her know that we discussed every risk on the page. I appriciate that!

I THOUGHT SHE LOOKED TOO YOUNG TO BE DOING THIS. AS SHE TALKED I FOUND HER TO BE QUITE COMPENTENT. I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE IN HER PRESENCE AND AHE TOOK TIME TO ANSWER EVERYONE'S QUESTIONS,EVEN IF THEY TOOK ALOT OF TIME.
SO FAR THE OFFICE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY.

THE ONLY THING I'M HAVING A PROBLEM WITH IS I GOT MY APPROVAL LETTER LAST WEEK AND CALLED AND FAXED IT TO THEM AND I STILL DON'T HAVE A DATE. I REALLY WANTED TO GET IN THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF MY DEDUCTIBLE AND MY HUSBAND IS LAID OFF AND IF HE DOESN'T PUT IN ENOUGH HOURS IN EACH QUARTER THEN THEY DROP US. SO I WANTED TO GET IN BEFORE WE WERE CANCELLED.THE OFFICE PEOPLE TOLD ME IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS. I THINK THEY COULD MAKE EXCEPTIONS FOR CIRCUMSTANCES.
BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION!!!!
SHE DID TALK ALOT ABOUT AFTERCARE AND I FELT I WOULD'NT BE LEFT OUT IN THE COLD AFTER SURGERY.SHE TOLD ALL THE RISKS IN GREAT DETAIL.SO FAR I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH HER. AND I THINK SUGGICAL COMPENTCE AND BESIDE MANNERS ARE BOTH A MUST!!!!!!E-MAIL ME ANYTIME KATHY

Dr. Cacucci is a very skilled and personable doctor. She takes time to discuss all your questions,or fears. She was very through in addressing all the possible complications and has been very supportive and warm throughout the entire procedure ( pre & post op) Dr.C does emphasize the need for good follow up care and Carmel has an excellent aftercare program complete with support groups.
I was originally scheduled for my surgery in July however due to a credentialing review my surgery was rescheduled to 9-26-02
that was very disappointing- I am almost 2 months post op and doing well - I enjoy Dr.C and she has been warm and supportive - I have had 4 endoscopic scopes due to healing to well - she assured me this is common and made a point to come and see me when I had to have the first one done, she explained the procedure and assured me - it really calmed me down. My surgery was lapascopic-
