My surgery is scheduled for December 10th,2002. At first I talked to Dr. Jones people and they said that I could have the surgery done before the end of the year if I was to go with one of the other surgeons in the team. I said sure and was scheduled for my consultation. That was very imformative and I was able to meet with Dr. Brenda Caccuci one on one to best describe which way was best for me.I found that she was real informative and seemed pretty nice. I haven't dealt with her staff much, yet. I have dealt with Nikki in the office but she has been very helpful and very polite.
The only thing that I had a problem with at first was that I had to wait almost 5 months before my surgery date. But now I think it is a good idea to wait that long to get everything in...psych consult, support group meetings, dietian classes, pre op tests. All that takes time and it give you the needed time to decide if this is "really" something for you. I will post again after the surgery and let you all know how it went.
Take care and feel free to email me.

After my initial consult with Dr. Cacucci, I was a little more nervous about having bariatric surgery. She informed me of all the potential risks that sometimes occur and to be honest, I really wasn't informed on these risk before. I am sooo glad she takes time to explain these things because it caused me to do even more homework, and because of that, I was able to make a more educated decision about having surgery.

Dr. Cacucci is very young but seemed to be very a competent. She explained the procedure and lifestyle changes very thoroughly, as well as risks and benefits. She was very personable and so thorough that I had very few questions when she was finished talking to me. I went away feeling very well informed and very good about my decision.

Dr. Cacucci is a very personable person, see lets you know what you have to do to get ready for your surgery. I've delt more with her nurse Nikki she is very nice and caring, she called to get some info from me and asked how i was doing on quiting smoking, she cared, she did'nt have to ask, but she did I've been smoke free since September 3,2002 Yeah!!!
She let me know the risks of surgery, plus they were given to me in writing.
I would rate her an overall good hearted person and not just a doctor!

When I first saw Dr. Cacucci I immediatly thought that she looked sooooo young!! However, when she began to explain the surgery and risk ect. I realized that she is a very intellegent person and certainly knows what she is doing. Hopefully this impression of her will not change. :)
She seems very quiet and understanding, and lets you vent your frustrations...a good listener. Her knowledge is great and she answered all questions well. She totally explained all the risk involved and stressed that this is not a surgery for cosmetic reasons!!! This should be considered for health reasons only. She strongly stressed post op care and support groups.

I was very impressed with Dr. Cacucci. (By the way, her name is misspelled on this site). She was informative and helpful and didn't seem rushed at all. That left me with the feeling that I was just as important as any other patient.

Had a little trouble with the office staff at first. One person there would promise to do something (fax a copy of an assessment, for instance), then not do it. This happened a couple of times. That person has been replaced, however.

She definitely did address the risks of surgery. She handed out a paper with all known risks listed and briefly discussed several of them. Then she allowed me to ask questions. She was patient and competent. I was very comfortable.

Surgical competence is a must. I hear from another of her patients that she's very competent. Bedside manner is a plus, but not mandatory. I have more faith in a doctor who treats patients well, but, truth be known, I'd rather have someone who is excellent with a scalpel and a little short on bedside manner than the other way around.

Although I have a surgery date, I have only met the doctor once and have not had any classes, so the doc is really about the only person I can comment on.

My first impression of Dr Caccuci was a good one. She seemed so calm and confident-- that helped me feel at ease. My impression did not change at all over time. My first impression only improved! She is a wonderful surgeon with your best interest at heart. Her office staff are wonderful. They know who I am when I call, and they respond to my requests the same day- sometimes within a matter of hours!

Future patients should know about Dr Caccuci and ANY doctor that it is very helpful to write your list of questions down at home, as they come up. This way when you are in her office you can get all your questions answered. It is very easy to forget what you wanted to ask.

I would rate Dr Caccuci and her staff ***** (5 stars). Her surgical competence, bedside manner and genuine care for the patient are all excellent.

I was very impressed with Dr Cacucci. She explained the surgical procedure options to me. She explained Pre and Post Op care. She advised of all risks of the surgery. She explained from beginning to end what you had to go thru to get your surgery date set up.She advised of the support meetings and exercise group that are available. I feel very comfortable with her and cant wait to get my date set up.

I have only been to the office once. I don't feel I can rate her as of now.
