I really liked Dr. Moore from the first time I met him at a marketing seminar. When I had my first appointment with him my first impression was reinforced. He took a long time with me to review my medical history very thoroughly and make sure I understood the surgery. Since my surgery on 3/24/05 I still have nothing but good to say about him. His office staff is very friendly and helpful. My insurance was approved the same day I saw him for the first appointment so obviously they know what they're doing with pre-authorizations! Their program really emphasizes aftercare, with monthly support group meetings and a registered dietician on staff at Harborview Medical Center to answer any questions you have. You see her before and after surgery. She even gave me a box full of protein supplement samples at my pre-op appointment so I would be sure to have some on hand to try before surgery if I wanted to.

I would highly recommend Dr. Moore and his practice to anyone considering WLS. Their whole program is awesome, and the fact that they primarily do laparoscopic RNY (only rarely do they have to do an open RNY) makes your recovery so much quicker. It's definitely worth the drive to me (about 1.5 hours each way) to go see him, even though there are WLS groups a lot closer to my home.

I have met Dr. Moore several times. He is my wife's surgeon. I have also met Dr. Spencer several times as well. Both surgeons are extremely dedicated to their paitents.

I was very impressed with Dr. Moore and his staff. He is very friendly and personable. If you have any questions before or after surgery they are there for you and eager to assist you. The program is very structured and aftercare is really good. I would refer him to anyone considering the surgery.

I have only met Dr Moore at the WLS seminar so far. I have my consult scheduled with him on Oct 8th. My first impression was that he has a good sense of humor but is also very professional and understanding of what his patients are going through. He pushes a lot to the support system needed after surgery and kept saying that you would not have surgery until all professionals involved agreed you were ready. The surgery center has a wonderful aftercare program including a monthly support group. I am looking forward to working with Dr Moore and will continue to update as I meet with him more.

First impression excellent doctor. Impression has not changed. Staff is attentive and caring and very encoraging. He and his whole staff emphazie the support groups, the aftercare with the doctor, and the nutritionist. This doctor is in a group of 3 surgeons, an office nurse, a nutritionist, a coordinator, and an office manager. The aftercare is very structured you see him after a week, one month later, and 3 months later. You see the nutrionist pre-op, 2nd post-op day, and one month out. Yes, the risks of surgery are discussed with the doctor and during your psych consult. Dr. Moore is the one of the few people in the world that I would let operate on me. I guess I have an inside perspective or advantage, since I work at the hospital. I trust Dr. Moore's surgical expertise and his knowledge. He is very caring and concerned about his patient's and is always available to his patients. In Dr. Moore's case, he has excellent surgical competence and awesome bedside manner and if you can't have both I would choose surgical competence. Overall, I would say this has been one of the best medical experiences I have had in my life. The entire staff at Bon Secours Surgical Weight Loss is awesome and extremely helpful.

I don't believe there was anything negative about my experience at all. I know that is hard to believe, but it is true.

When I first met Dr. Moore I was totally impressed with him. He provided me with answers to all the questions I had regarding WLS. I left his office that day with my surgery date scheduled and totally at peace with my decision to have my surgery.

Dealing with Dr. Moore and the other surgeons is very easy. They have a group effort in dealing with every patient. They have people in place for every need you have. They even help to schedule all of the appointments you need to get completed before your surgery.

When you go to a Support Group Meeting, you will find everyone there who has helped you along the way. They are all very "hands on" with you through your whole process.

I love every one of them, especially Charlene, one of the nurses in Dr. Moore's office. Whenever I have a problem or a question I can call her and you can bet she can answer me, or find me an answer. She is wonderful. When she tells you something, you can definitely feel confident with her answer, because she has also had this surgery. She has helped me through this journey so much and I love her greatly for it.

I honestly can not find one negative part of this whole experience dealing with this group. They are simply awesome!

Dr. Moore is part of Tidewater Surgical Specialists. They are the surgeons for the Bon Secours Surgical Wegiht Loss Center.
Dr. Spencer, Dr. Moore and Dr. Newman are the bariatric surgeons for the program. Any amount of research into this surgical practice will tell you that their track record is amazing. They are one of the top ten bariatric surgical practices in the country. They are the best in the state of Vriginia. They have been saving lives with WLS for six years. Their complication and leak rate is so minor, and they have never had a patient die. Dr. Moore is my actual surgeon, but the Dr's normally perform the surgery together. I attended an information session with Dr. Newman. He is really funny! He kept us laughing the whole time.
All three surgeons truly care and show their concern for their patients.

I FELT THAT HE WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND SYMPATHETIC. I BECAME VERY CONFIDENT OF HIS SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE SURGICAL PROCESS. OFFICE STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. THERE IS NOTHING THAT I WOULD CHANGE ABOUT HIM. HE IS VERY DOWN TO EARTH, GREAT BEDSIDE MANNERS AND HE EVEN MADE MY HUSBAND COMFORTABLE WHICH IS HARD TO DO. YOU WILL GET CONTINOUS CARE THROUGH COORDINATOR, DIETICIAN, SUPPORT GROUPS AND FOLLOW UPS. HIS RATING IS EXCELLENT. BOTH COMPETENCE AND BEDSIDE MANNER ARE EXCELLENT. I KNOW GOD LED ME TO HIM.

I had my first meeting with Dr. Moore on Thursday. His office was very easy to find and everyone was very nice and professional. I met with his clinical coordinatorand right off the bat my wife and i knew we were in the right place. After eeting with her we finally met with Dr. Moore. He was excellant. I really liked his down to earth and laid back demeanor. He appeared to be very caring and did not belittel me or my thoughts in any way but insted listened as we talked and answered my questions as best as he could. When he didnt know the answer to something he was upfront enough to tell us so... I liked that. I would recommned him to anyone. The only down side was that my appoinntment was for 2:30pm well it was 3:40pm before we ever saw anyone. They were quick to explain that Dr. Mooes Associate was out of town and he was backed up but the appointment didnot get over until almost 5:00pm.

Hi all,
where does one begin to describe someone who has changed your life? Glen Moore is a gift from God. I found Dr. Moore while surfing the internet looking for a bariatric surgeon in the United States. I e-mailed four or five different doctors and received a personal letter and an extensive package from only one. That was Dr. Glen Moore. We spoke on the phone and instantly I felt a kinship to him. Never have I met such a wonderful human being. By December 30, 2003 when we first met face to face, I felt as if we had been friends for a long time. He has always made me feel very com fortable and explained everything about the surgery, including the risks, in language that a lay person can easily understand. You hear that many doctors have poor bedside manner. Well, Glen Moore is an exception. He's an amazing surgeon and an extaordinary person. I could not have been more pleased with his care and compassion. How many busy doctors invite their patients out for dinner the night before theor surgery. Dr. Moore did just that. My surgery went very well and I must say, " Glen, I consider you a friend ". You took care of me in ways that were well above the call of duty. I can't thank you enough. If you are considering GBS and want the best doctor and person in your corner, do yourself a big favour. Call Dr. Glen Moore. You won't be sorry.
