My first impression of Dr. Todd was that he is very open and honest about the surgery. My impression has not changed over the past month. In fact, I am even more impressed with his caring attitude and his throughness with each and every patient. His nurse practioner Donna Newkirk is very kind and gives you honest answers to your questions. I also think that Elizabeth is very considerate and she doesn't mind us pre-ops bugging her with our questions and few times a week. I think Dr. Todd and his staff are a blessing to us here in Alaska and I thank God for giving us such kind and caring people to help those of use who struggle with obesity. I know by having this surgery it will help me to live a lot more years. I think you could call Dr. Michael Todd a life saver.
I found Dr. Todd and his staff to be very compassionate and knowledgable about the different procedures. He treated me an equal, answering all of my questions. If he didn't know the answer he let me know and found the answer. I find this to be a very important factor in finding a good doctor. Not everyone has all the answers, but they must be willing to look for the ones they dont know.
From my first phone call, my experience with Dr.Todd and his staff has been exceptional. I flew in to Anchorage for just a couple of days and Jaime scheduled all but one test for me. (Thanks, Jaime!) The entire staff was friendly, accomadating, and made you feel at ease for such a major change in ones life. As a Christian, it was important to find a Christian doctor and I found one in Dr. Todd. The Nurse-Practitioner, Donna met Dr. Todd in church and she was great. If you live any where in Alaska, give Dr. Todd your first consideration, I am glad I did. Dr. Todd is also a general and hand surgeon as well. I get the impression from his office traffic that he is a very competent surgeon, as well as having a copassionate demeanor. (Hooray for larger Alaskans!) One other point to make...the staff at Alaska Regional Hospital were just as awsome as Dr. Todd's staff. The best experience I have ever with medical professionals. Nothing, but nothing was negative.
My experience with Dr Todd was an answer to
prayer. He is a humble sincere man who has
a burden for people who sufffer from morbid
obesity. I have had some real bad experiences
with surgeons in the past but he exhibited no
pretense or vanity. Instead he was kind,
caring, warm, concerned, infomative, open,
and transparent.
His office staff seemed to be an extension of
him exhibiting the same qualities.
Dr Todd gave me assurance that he would be
there through my before, during and after care.
I have had two sessions with Dr. Todd, and I find him and Donna, his head nurse, very cheerful and helpful. I feel at ease that he knows what he's doing, and sometimes his conservative approach frusterates me, but I am VERY TAHNKFUL for that approach. He helps you to feel comfy in his office, and is very personable. His whole staff is wonderful, and helpful. We talked about all the risks/bennies of wls, and has an extensive aftercare program. Heis on the ball, and AK Regional is standing behind him. The hosp. is willing to have a local bariatric center at any cost to them. My date is Nov. 20th.
10/17/00 On the 11 of Oct. I meet with Dr. Todd he was great person. He answered all my questions. We had a 3 hour session just him and I. I felt as if he was being up front and honest to me about the risks and how it will change my life forever. His staff was Great! Dr. Todd and his staff really got the ball rolling for the surgery. Overall I'm very happy with him and his staff I know that this was the right guy for me.
