My first impression of Dr. Casillas was that he was very direct in giving instructions about what I was about to go through, he seemed to care and all of the staff in the surgical dept were professional and to me I liked that. Dr. Casillas was polite, and took the time to answer all of my questions. I appreciated his candour and he has made me feel a lot more comfortable about the procedure I needed to have. He's not warm and fuzzy, but he's not arrogant either. I would recommend Dr. Casillas to anyone having a VSG.

Ididn't have the greatest experience at Kaiser W. LA - but could have been a lot worse. Feel free to send me a PM for more info about my experience with Dr. Casillas and W. LA recovery unit.

Great first impression from Dr. Casillas. Office staff very helpful. My visits with him were great, he does not waste time and is very honest with you. I agree with the review before wish the after surgery care from Kaiser West LA would of been better especially when I was in pain. It took them an hour to respond to me having to go to the restroom so they could on hook me. The nurses on my first night need to be better aware of what we go through with this surgery, physically and emotionally. The next day after we complained everyone was making sure I was taken care of. Glad my husband was there. As a surgeon he did a great job. The program has a great follow up staff that I can call any time and has also called me to check how I was doing.

When I first met Dr. Casillas I was impressed with his confidence, and self assured attitude. I like a doctor who enjoys what he does, does it well and is not afraid to be confident! The stall at Kaiser West LA were nice and efficient. WHile Dr. Casillas repeatedly warned my of the possible complications and riskd. He and his staff gave me full information on post op eating, foods, menus, etc. I was never told of the pain and discomfort I would have! I give him a 8.5 out of 10, (10 being Perfect.) He is very competent and his bedside manner is good. I am a big baby and would have liked to be pampered, but oh well, that's what hubby is for.

First Impression:rnVery pleasant. He was extremely clear in his descriptions of the various surgeries and what I need to do to be prepared for the surgery.rnJe seems to be more inclined to suggest the Rouen Y instead of the Sleeve.

Dr. Casillas projects a very warm and caring attitude. He was very supportive of good pain management after surgery. I had very little bruising and the incisions were small and healed very quickly. I'm very pleased with his surgical competence and would readily recommend him as a surgeon. Kaiser has an excellent follow-up program with a care coordinator who is always available for advice and support.

-first impression: he's bilingual.rn-the office staff was wonderful and very curteous.rn-he always seems in a hurry but he does give me my time when i need it.rn-future patients should know that he is down to earth and very strict about the program and he wishes you to succeed so listen to his avice.rn-he gives pamphlets and if you leave him a message at his office he will personally call you back. rn-he goes over the risks, but since some people, like myself, went to a bariatric program over 6months, he know we are prepared before going to him.rn-i would rate him a 10.rn-both are great, bedside manner and surgical competence.rn
