Topic: RE: So, how visable are you now???
Hi, Sister,
We share the same "birthdate", 4/28/05 and like you, I was "acceptable" at my heaviest, which was 263. I am 5'2" and that's a lot of weight but I dressed well, my hair was always up-to-date, etc. so no one really knew how heavy/fat I was. My surgery was on 4.28.05 and I've gone from a size 24-26 to size 10 and small-medium tops. I've lost 66 lbs. which in alot of cases doesn't seem like a lot but with a hypothyroid and other health issues, is pretty good for me. I don't notice any extra attention but my kids do! They keep telling me that men are looking at me like they ignored me before. I really don't notice, well, OK, there are the creepy ones, but overall, I really don't pay attention to anything except that I feel so MUCH more confident that I did before. I like feeling comfy in my wrinlkly sking, even with 30 lbs. to go and hold my head up high and swing my hips like you wouldn't believe! Even at 47, I really don't think that I'm invisible anymore. I also smile alot and that helps! Congratulations on your weight loss and I hope you live in a place where the beach water isn't brown (like the Gulf of Mexico). Go to the beach and strut your stuff....you deserve it.
Hugs,
Susan
Topic: I think I did it!!!
My official day to get on the scale is Monday morning, before I eat or drink anything, sans clothing. That's the number I use when someone asks how much I've lost.
But I'm on the scale constantly, at least twice a day.
So I got on the scale Wednesday night and it read 155...I was in shock...then I weighed myself again this morning and it said 155.
If this is my weight, that makes it official, I'VE LOST 100 POUNDS!!!!
I'll give the official report on Monday, so keep your fingers crossed for me.
Thanks for all of your support,
L*

Helen,
Didn't I read one of your posts somewhere which said "they" finally found a reason you're not losing as quickly as most? I can't remember for sure.
At least you continue to lose. It may take you longer but eventually you'll even up with the rest of us. Don't give up.

Topic: RE: Who had a WOW moment(s) this week?
I have had a few myself -- my daughter and I went clothes shopping because she has lost a lot of inches since she started cheerleading last summer, so she has gotten too small for most of her pants (she was a size 15/16, now she's a 7/8!) While we were at Belk, they were having an awesome clearance sale (60% off the marked down price!) and I found the cutest pair of size 11 (juniors) jeans for only like $7. While in the dressing room with my daughter, she said "try those on, mom" so I did, and they actually FIT! They're still a little snug for my preference, since they're low-rise, but I bought them anyway, as we're only talking another inch before they fit the way they are made to fit! I am sitting here typing in my daughter's old pair of size 12's!
The next night after I bought those jeans, my daughter insisted I wear them to her basketball game, since all her friends would be there and she wanted to "show off my skinny mom"! At the game, every one of her friends came over to tell me how great I look and how happy they are for me. These are 12/13/14 year old kids. I was so proud, lol!

Hi Gina, well I had a wow moment this week. I had to have surgery last Monday and I have to admit, although still large I didnt have that horrible feeling that the wardsmen were going to make rude comments about lifting me as I had in the past but the biggest excitement was that the hospital gown CLOSED down the back omg, such a small thing but so huge to me.

Hi Lynda, well for the past 4 months I have only dropped 2lb a month and I am only down 58lbs since surgery and have so far to go. I went to the nutritionist who advised me to try to increase my calories as I get too few. I dont know what to do anymore. Before surgery I thought I would be a further 50lbs down by now. It is all toooooo depressing and makes me sad as hell. I think I have catastrophized right from the beginning lol.

My daughter told me all her friends say I'm tiny.
A co-worker told me that I'm melting away.
Another co-worker said my legs are like sticks. Oh, wait...

Seems we April's are at it again! From what I remember, we all STALL at the same time! I have not lost anyting since the beginning of November, although I have not really tried. I am in a size 6/8 and feel very good about that as I am 5'9". I am within 5 pounds of goal. I know I need to up the water and exercise, but I am TOO comfortable where I am now.
