Topic: RE: AM I THE ONLY 1 WHO STILL HAS NO HUNGER AT ALL?
Julie, You are not alone. Believe it or not, even at my heaviest, 263 lbs. (3/2004), I didn't have an appetite. I really believe in the 6 small meals a day plan. When I was my heaviest, I drank 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning and didn't eat anything until dinner. Not healthy, not good. Now my husband and I agree, eating 6 small meals is my largest hurdle. I am NEVER hungry and I had my surgery on 4.28.05. It's a daily battle to eat every day and I know that I have to change the way I think. I actually lost weight over the holidays because I'm around more food. I don't do the cooking for the family, never have, because I really hate doing it. It's a strange situation but my goal is to eat and take my vitamins on a daily basis. I started out at 5'2" 234 lbs. (day of surgery) and am now at 165. It's a daily battle. Take care. Susan

Hi all, Doing pretty good on the diet part. Although last night for diner my husband brought home Applebee's and I ate some of his dinner. I had steak, squash, salad and mash potatoes. of course I ate the steak first and then took about 1 to 2 bites of everything else. I was pleased when I got on the scale this morning as another lb. bit the dust. So far it is 6 lbs. gone since the beginning of the challenge! I did have a bit of a fright yesterday. I got up in the morning to wake my daughter up for school and after she was sitting on the side of her bed I turned to leave her room. Right at that moment I got extremely dizzy and nauseous and passed out. I came to very disoriented and wondering where I was. Went to the hospital because I already have a fractured back and wanted to make sure I didn't mess it up more. The ER was really quite the joke in diagnosing. The Dr. there said I had a stomach virus that it is going around. Well I was able to eat soup, pudding and then my dinner last night and didn't have any problems. I am going to call my Dr. on Monday to make sure everything is ok. In your opinion do you think that having sugar over the holidays and then going back to the high protein, low carb could have caused me to pass out like that? I have never passed out before and never want to again, that was the weirdest feeling I have ever experienced. Don't worry I will still check with my Dr. but wondered what you all thought. Hi Joanne well I am about to go to bed on Saturday night and wanted to report. I started the day well, but had a birthday party lunch to go to, and it was a set menu, so tried to stick to high protein and ate the ham and cheese salad, and then had fruit with ice cream for dessert. Drank over 100ml of water when I came home to try to make up for it. Have a good one and I will try to stick to just the liquids tomorrow. hugs from down under to you all helen xxx ps I wish we hadnt said we would be totally honest lol.

Good morning Challengers: I hope all takes a minute to post and let us know how you are making out. I know it has been hard but Mondays results will be worth it. I slipped yesterday and had fish and stewed tomatoes for dinner but the rest of my day was good. I got in all my liquids and protein. Shakes really do help. I guess they are easy for me because I didn't do them from the start as all of you guys did. My Dr. does not beleive in them but the Dr. in his office that I have been seeing says it is ok. I only wish I did them from the start in April. I have learned so much in the last 9 months and continue to learn everyday. See all lighter. Joanne

Hi All, Well today was not one of my compliant days. Hubby was off today and we went to the show and then dinner. I had a cup of beef barley soup and a small spinach salad with a hard boiled egg and shredded cheese. I knew I was going off the P/B but I tried to keep it high protein. Hopefully I didnt do too much damage. But it was nice to be out on a "date" with my honey. I'll be home all day tomorrow so I'm really going to pump in the fluids. I have not gotten on the scale yet but the waistband on my jeans is very loose and that brings a smile to my face. It's amazing how good I feel and how my attitude is so upbeat. Even though I was no where near pre-surgery amount of carbs I think the small amount I was letting into my diet again really makes me sluggish. Not the good carbs mind you but the crackers, rolls cookie etc. etc. etc. It's really a wake up call for me but how do you live a life without letting those things slip in??? Oh well---I'm still a work in progress.

Hi everyone! Have you missed me? I'm here in Arizona visiting my daughter. I'm supposed to be on vacation from my junior high students and now find myself teaching my daughter's 4th grade class while she's testing students in another part of the school. Amazing! No one even checked to see if I really was a teacher. However, for the past two days I was visited by EVERYONE including the principal and vice principal. Doing well on DIET!! Judy

Tara... You are all most welcome....I am a firm believer of support of one another...If we can not share our gtood fortune with anyone else what is the sense having it in the first place. There have been so many people lately that have hit the plateau and well it just broke my heart to see everyone so upset and miserable. I am proud of you,,,keep up the good work and god bless all your endeavors. Rae

I had a WOW moment -- I went for a doctor's visit, and I was led into the dressing room and handed a lovely, cushy bathrobe -- "Put this on and then come into the waiting room." I asked "Is it big enough?" She looked at me like I was nuts. Yeah, it was big enough. feistyemm highest 329/presurg 271/now 192/goal 149
