Hello and Merry Christmas!
I've been avoiding you all because I've been at a stall and now I've gained a couple of pounds because of too much indulgence in Christmas goodies. I am so close to goal and I don't think I'm going to ever get there. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This week: 140
Lowest: 138
Gain of: 2
Goal: 135

Topic: New Xmas Photos
Went to the office Xmas party this evening. Not really a party, as my agency doesn't do anything like that, but after years of working together, we decided to take us and our significant others out for dinner. What a wonderful evening! In the stress of work lately, I have forgotten how fortunate I am to work with such good people. I have a tattoo on top of my left foot. It's the Chinese symbol for chaos. I chose this from an inspirational gifts catalog which had the symbol framed. Underneath the symbol it said, "Chaos...where great dreams begin." Given the extremely chaotic work life we share 40+ hours a week, something great happened, Team Benedict!! Thank you, Jen, Wendy, Dan, & Sarah. I love you guys!!
Be sure to check out the new album I made this evening for my Xmas photos.
Topic: RE: Having a really hard time...
Courtney,
Sometimes we have to listen to what other people are saying and how they are saying it to us. Go into a store and try on that size you finally got into and ask a salesperson or even a stranger how you look in what you're trying on. They don't know that "fat girl" so they have no choice but to be sincere and honest. Maybe we need to see ourselves through strangers' eyes first, since the people that care about us, for the most part, we always "suspect" as being kinder than they should be.
It's hard to get out of our old heads and into our new bodies. I agree with the others who suggested talking to a therapist - you need to develop the tools to build your self-exteem now that you've worked and succeeded with the tool to get your healthy!
You can do this, really - you've done part of the hard part already - it's just the next phase.
