Well...reading your post I would have thought that I wrote it myself!!!! I had my surgery the same day and am down 83 pounds....Oct. I lost 8.5 and Nov. I lost 5.5!!!! You didnt know you had a twin out there did you? I am totally right htere with you.....I wanted to be "overweight" by the end of Dec. but with ten pounds to go I don't see that happening!!!!! I am asking myself the same exact question.....I have not been doing the Sunday weigh in because I just feel like I don't compare with all the good loses that people are having. I am getting all my vitamins...water....and beefing up my protein level!! My treadmill died...and with all the snow and ice...I don't get my normal walks in right now..... I still have 35 pounds to lose....I set a new 1 Year goal of being down 100 pounds.....then I will work from there!!!!! Hang in there and know you are not alone.....send me a message and I will give you my phone number and we can talk!!!!!! Hugs.....Holly

Oh Donna, thank you so much. It does make since, I have been struggling to loose my last 10 pounds and reach goal and I have been in turtle mode. Plus the holiday goodies are just so tempting. I've gone back to basics this week and now I know I need to up the activity level. Now if I'll just do it!! Thanks, Sue

yes but it sounds like you may be doing to much! follow Biggest Loser? Kim was having to get Bryan to eat more.....he was not taking in enough calories to burn with all the excercise he was doing.....so in your case you may be doing too much.....or you made need to look at your protien/caloric intake? ......just a thought! That was me as well btw. The day after surgery I had this amazing feeling....sense of years added to my life and was ready to go, but I had to stay another night. But yes I am the opposite of just about every example It is hilarieous. He stops what he is saying to add..."MOST people" gets a laugh out of me everytime!!!!

So, your doctor looks at you the same way mine looks at me. LOL I am totally the opposite of everything! He has a lot of patients who feel like death on day 2. I was ready to go home I felt so great. I understand the 3800 calories and all but here's my sad, dopey body for ya. Last Sunday's weigh-in I had lost .4 pounds. Yup, just .4 pounds. I worked my tail off at the gym. So, at this Sunday's I had lost almost 5 pounds!!! I went to the gym twice, thought I was eating like a pig AND had M&M cravings like crazy that, yes, bad me, fell for. The previous week I was getting in like 70-80 oz of liquids a day. Last week I was lucky to get 40. So, the theory works great for "normal" people. My body is so messed up. LOL Maybe if I sit on my butt trying to eat an entire pizza I'll hit goal. LOL Have a great day! * Cyndi *

Ok, so there I was sitting in my surgeon's seminar for the what....7th, 8th, 9th time....waiting for it to be my turn to answer questions. Paying attention trying not to make eye contacet with my doctor with the smirks on my fact when he says something that may be true for most but was the opposite for me.....he always looks at me at those times when I am am saying to myself (well not exaclty or ha not for me LOL) well today he was to the section of the benefits of surgery and someone asked "does your body eventually level off and know when to stop losing weight. Does it slow down" We had just gone over that it takes burning 3800 calories to lose a pound....380, 000 calories to loose 100 pounds (when excercisng to loose weight) and that 1 candy bar =300 calories. My doctor's response was yes and that as your body is lighter you will burn less claories carrying it around than you did before. ah-ha!!! that is it!!! That explains the rut a lot of us are in!!!! It made total sense!!!! We were losing more at a faster pace when there was more of us to carry around.....So as you reduce your weight your activity would need to increase to make up the differnece!!!!! Or your pounds lost will be less each week! So who wants to test this theory out with me? Just increase your activity by a small percentage this week and see if that makes a difference. Of course I was thinking to loud....or figidting too much as he looked at me like I would look at my kids when I want them to behave in public LOL! But it was information I think several of us can use right now! Donna

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! I can promise you that. I am in such a slump I have stayed between 215 and 210 for the past month. I had to stop exercising due to illness and family death but I am hoping things will change soon. I did loose 2#'s from last week so that is a good thing. We all just have to have faith and quit thinkin g like we did before we decided to take on this journey. We will all succeed! We may hit a few bumps in the road but keep on trucking and talking to all ,of us and we will get through this just keep an open mind and I knpw we can and you can do this. Amy

Hi Chris, Welcome to ONEDERLAND.....I went up to 200 and back down for two weeks and then I dropped like 5 pounds and stayed down. I am safely in Onederland now so if you go up to 200 don't panic, it will come right back off and go lower and lower. Soon you will be in the 80's and then the 70's. Congratulations again! It's a great feeling isn't it? Hugs, Esther

Hi Everyone, It looks like most of you are doing GREAT this week but please don't get discouraged if you stayed the same or gained. We are in this together and you can always start over. I had a great week but the only reason I lost is because I sold my house and I am sick to my stomach because I am moving and I don't like change so my appitite is not very good these days. I have lived in my house for over 30 years so it's tearing my heart apart but we are moving to a beautiful new home close to my daughter and youngest son which is a good thing. Here are my stats: Before surgery: 279.5 Last week: 182.5 This week: 180 Weeks loss: 2.5 pounds Total weight loss: 99.5 Have a great week. I love you all. Hugs, Esther
