Hi Chris. Congrats on putting you first. I know, as a mom, it's hard to do. I joined a gym that has a Curves-like circuit and I do it each morning. But, I would choose either morning or evening but not both. The Curves I used to go to didn't even suggest coming every day (I thought that kinda goofy). But, doing twice a day? I'd check with my doctor first because my orthopedic surgeon gave me a big NO WAY. lol And, doing it twice a day might become a "chore". You're going to do great. Isn't it funny how moms HAVE to sign those contracts to get it firmly in our heads. My husband was shocked I even brought the contracts for the gym home. LOL And, don't beat yourself up on goals. I got so crazy about my goals I had to finally set every 10 pounds I would do _________. Either buy new nail polish or something small. Every 25 pounds I would get a $10 gift card to either Walmart or Cato or Fashion Bug. That way I always had the $$ to get new jeans when I needed them. lol It's dorky but I don't feel guilty taking the money when my jeans are falling off my butt. Good luck!!!!! * Cyndi *

I read about edamame too but I have to check with my PCP. Following my lumpectomy I'm not supposed to have nuts, caffeine, or chocolate. So, I'm not sure if the edamame would follow under that. Of course, I'm a WOMAN so how can I totally go without chocolate? I have to have my 4 M&Ms a day. LOL Yup, I put one in each of my vitamin slots. My hubby just rolls his eyes but there are some things I just can't do without. LOL I'll have to check my healthfood store and see if they have it. I'm sure by now store managers are scratching their heads over the new edamame craze. * Cyndi *

Roxanne, I agree with so much of what has been said. This board is one of the most supportive I've seen. ANYONE who wants to post is welcome and especially new people who may have just found us....YOU ARE WELCOME. We are not an exclusive club and welcome any Mayster to post. You are doing great. The difference will be if you keep focused or not and it seems like you will be. Those who make it to goal are the ones who plug along. Even more importantly is if you are making the necessary changes in your eating habits to sustain long-term success. There was a great thread over on the RNY board in the past day or so that talked about weight gain after goal. It is a must read and will give you a proper perspective. So.....join us. John

Chris-- Good for you! I'm glad to see someone else is doing curves! I LOVE curves...and I go as often as I can. I don't like the hours all that well because I work nights...but I go whenever I can--usually shoot for 3 days a week. You will see results if you go consistently. The nice thing about Curves is that they measure you...so it's easy to see results that way even if you don't see the numbers on the scale you want to see. Congrats on taking this step and making a commitment to exercising. It really is KEY in reaching our goals and staying healthy for LIFE. Way to go! =) Courtney

Roxanne~ I've told you 43598034 times...and I'll tell you once more...you are doing GREAT! I know it's hard not to compare yourself to me (and others) because you think I'm doing so much better (I'm NOT!)...I just had a lot more to lose to start with!! I compare myself to a lot of these girls (and guys) on this board who are already well into onderland and almost to their goals after only 6 months. I'm NOWHERE close to my goal yet...and still have 42 lbs to get to Onederland. It seems SO far away. WE WILL GET THERE! You, sooner than I, and I'm okay with that--lol. Just keep doing what you're doing...and it will happen. I'll call you tomorrow when I wake up! Maybe we can go do something in the evening since we're both off. Let me know ma'am. Oh yeah, and I better see you posting your loss for the week on the Sunday weigh-in tomorrow. (Cuz I know your secret...and I know how often you weigh yourself...lol)

ummmmm I had my surgery the same day as you and have lost 90 lbs.....so I do not see how you are slow......I even started heavier than you by 36lbs. I too had a goal of actually 100 pounds by 6 months wheich was at 88 and I wanted to be under 200 I am aorund 238 right now......ummmm nope not going to make it. Seems Courteny, you and I started around the same and are losing about the same so we are doing something right. I know that if I excerciese more I would pick up the pace and it is something I am working on....... come to the weigh in.....being held accountable will help! See you tomorrow! Donna
