Topic: When Checking In...don't forget..
It is so great that you are all checking in. We have a Mayster check-in thread that is keeping a cumulative total of weight lost. It is the thread dated Jan 30 and has around 50 entries. To participate, just stick your total lost on the bottom and add to the cummulative total. We want your total no matter how much you have lost. If you have lost 30 pounds since surgery, and have worked as hard as you personally could, then please add your success. This is not some kind of exclusive 100 pounder club. We invite all.... We have collectively lost over two and a half tons so far...and still counting. John

My brother and sister-in-law just got back from New Orleans. Steve wanted to stay for Mardi Gras but they had to get back. My weekend's pretty boring. Cleaning and scrapbooking today and then I have to take the kid to the Hannah Montana 3D thing tomorrow. Can you believe I have to miss like the first half of Super Bowl? Only for my kid. My Cowboys are home so it's not *that* big a deal but I'd love to see the Giants take it! Hope you're all having fun! * Cyndi *

Hello, John. Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to contact me. I must confess, this journey has not been going so well. But I have renewed my resolve to get back on board and be as committed to my success AFTER the surgery as I was committed to GETTING APPROVAL for surgery. I was hesitant about the GASTRIC BYPASS procedure, so I opted for LAPBAND. I find that it really requires work, dedication and commitment. I was reading another posting from a lady who had complications and lost 40 lbs in the first 3 months and that was about it.I can so relate. (My band was not tight enough though!) I was at a point where I did not even want to get on the scales anymore. I had my band adjusted December 7 and things seem to be better. There is not a "supportive" support group in Pulaski. The meeting I attended was more of a women's social gathering discussing how they cheat and about family (anything but encouragement or support). So, I never returned. I will come back to this board for friendship, fellowship and support. Thanks, John, for reaching out. You are appreciated!

Hey there T.Rob, We are glad to have you back. I hit the same roadblock you did in November. I was pounding along and having no issues and then the middle of November I started eating a bit more. Next thing you know, I was in the same stall. Yeah, I still lost about 10 pounds over November and December, but it was a stall compared to what I had been doing in the previous months. I rediscovered the carbs that had been absent and had to learn all over again how to handle those. Anyway, now it seems better and I really seem to be back on track. I'm trying to keep my protein levels up there and also drink the water that will help with those losses. I guess I really needed to connect back up with some of our old friends. What amazed me was that many of us are experiencing some of the same issues and didn't say much until now. Let's all handle things and keep this train moving. We have just 3 months bofore May 1st. I'll be honest, I could be perfectly happy at 205 pounds, but I guess I want more to come off. I know that each day that I eat 1200 or less calories per day, our bodies will keep dropping the weight. Well, my friend, don't stay away so long. We need to hear from you now and then. As one of the few males in this group, I still never feel lonely among all of these lovely roses as they continue to bloom during the Springtime of thier new lives. Have a great February. John
