First, happy 8 month surgiversary John!!! I'm really glad you took all that time to PM the member list. I kind of thought you did. I did it for the scrapbook forum and, after PMming about 150 people, it's still silent. It's great seeing the activity here. I still swear it's the BEST board here on OH. I get more support, more ideas and have more laughs with the group here than anywhere else. Maybe other forums should look at us. I think we're pretty terrific. And, congrats to the DW!!! It certainly sounds like she nailed the interview!!! * Cyndi *

Welcome back Kelly! Don't be a stranger! I was stalled for almost 2 months when it finally started coming back off again. I hit my surgeon's goal (150) on my 8 month surgiversary and I'm about 148 now. Carbs are so easy for me. I hate that they're easy. Try to keep something better at your desk. I know, it's hard. I work from home and that fridge is always calling me. Try to keep to your surgeon's rules, cut back those pesky carbs and drink less coffee. I bet that dreaded scale will start moving again!!! * Cyndi *

Topic: Missed all of you!!!!!
Hi Everyone, I use to live on this board before my surgery and a couple of months right after. I am still a lurker and read the post from time to time. I am so proud of all of you and what a great board, full of wonderful people. The weight is not going off as quickly as it was and this can be discouraging. I thought hitting goal would be soooo easy. I struggle everyday with carbs and try to keep them far away (especially out of my desk at work). I also became addicted to coffee and at times would rather drink than eat...then when I eat it is not always the best choice. Thanks John for reminding how important the May folks are and that we are all on the same journey together. I hope everyone has much SUCCESS and that we can all get to a good place. Hugs, Kelly

Topic: Hi All!
I have not been on here in a while! I am down 108 pounds since surgery. Things are going really well. I do love my DS. I have since become a leader in our local weight loss support group. My labs keep coming back with low Vitamin D. I keep researching how to improve my vitamin intake. Any suggestions? Jen S.

Oh, Maureen, I'm so sorry you had to deal with all of this! That they even sent you home with a 103 temperature SCREAMS malpractice. Thank goodness you've documented all of this. I hope you find a terrific attorney who cleans that guy out. I was hoping while reading that the word "malpractice" would pop up. Good for you. I hope you're doing much better now. Congrats on the 119 pounds gone. I wish you nothing but the best! * Cyndi *

Hi everyone, I have to admit it. For the regulars, you may be noticing a recent buzz of activity on this message board recently. My wife is going for a new position at her company and I have lost a bit of sleep yesterday when she had to get up to go in early to work. She was working a 12 hour shift on about 4 hours of sleep and then still hammered the interview anyway. To give you an idea, the person before her was a 20-25 minute interview. My dw was still in the interview after 1 hour and 5 minutes when it finally came to a close. At first they were saying "the person who gets this position" and at the end they were all (yes, all 9 of them) talking about "this is what you will be doing". I guess i'm pretty happy with my wife right now. So anyway, back to my story, I was up and couldn't sleep, so I PM'ed over 100 people who had been to our May 2007 board in the past year. To the left there is the blue bar. It has a "Roster of Members". If you go there, you will see a list of everyone who has ever posted here on our board. I looked for the ones who had posted quite a lot as well as the ones who looked like they were updating their profile regularly....a more current avitar. So...I started that thread of checking in and was pleasantly surprised to see so many people respond. I do hope that it is the start of a reconnection with these folks. We can all journey together and support one another better if we hang tough together. Let's stay connected...even as we get so busy now with our new lives...just try to keep stopping in and saying hi once in awhile. So there you have it, the mystery is solved.... John

Maureen, I am so sorry for what you've been through. I hope that you are well on your way to recovery. Please keep us updated on your progress. So nice to hear from you. Are there more of you out there lurking that need to come forward? Let us hear from all of you! Maureen, I'll be praying for you. Hugs, Sue

Chantal, We are here to support through the good, the bad, and the ugly. There are ugly times for all of us....we regret eating that piece of #@*&#@. You have been an inspiration to all of us. You are one who helped gel this support group (message board & chats) when we were first getting started, so if we can help you now in any way, you just let us know. You really want to get the demons under control now. I posted a message on the graduate board and found that a majority of the people said that it was MUCH harder to maintain than it was to lose the initial weight. We stop getting all of the attention and we have to do this for the rest of our lives without all of the oohhhhh...and ahhhhh's. So, let us be your friend again, and let's reinvent what we need to to get to where we want to go. Set some goals, but don't be disappointed if you don't hit them. Only be disappointed if you make NO progress toward them. Any small step is a step in the right direction. We care about you little sis. John

Maureen, I'm so sorry to hear that you have had such a rough go of it. We know that there are real risks involved and things like this do happen. It just seems so sad when it happens to one in our group of friends. I hope you are on the path to brighter skies. On the postitive note, 119 pounds is just an awesome number. Keep that up if your health permits. John
