Topic: RE: Bug in my gut!!
Hi Wendy
I remember when my mother had an H Pylori infection. That antibiotic pack is no joke. Hang in there, it will be over soon. With my mother, it was her mutlitude of medications that help bring it on along with her stomach acids.

Topic: RE: Cruise & PS
Thanks Cindy
Have fun on your cruise!! It's a good thing I didn't have PS first, I was wild enough as it was. I'm just a little worried about the pain. I'm glad you're healing well and wish you the best!!

Topic: RE: CARBS vs SUGAR
Fortunately for me, if I consume anything with more than 9grams of sugar, I tend to dump. Unfortunately for me, i seem to tolerate carbs really well infact I seem to eat them with complete ease!! I know the consumption of them slow my weight loss. I struggle with this daily! I eagerly await others responses.... Diane
Topic: RE: CARBS vs SUGAR
Mostly I look at the sugar and don't go over 7 gms. I don't really count carbs but I don't really eat much "white stuff" either. I don't eat anything where sugar is one of the first 3 ingrediants. But if it's not white I don't usually look at the carbs, but I do know if I eat to many carbs I'll need a nap

Topic: 14 month surgiversary... (long)
Hi all my fellow Junebugs!
I hope the end of the summer is finding you all well rested, happy, and looking forward to a fabulous fall.
Today is my 14 month anniversary~ and I thought it would be a great time to check in with everyone. Life has been really crazy. We just got back from vacation yesterday from being at the beach for 4 days. The first 3 days were with my hubby's family, the last night we spent at a Bed and Breakfast by ourselves. While there, they had bicycles that we could borrow. I went on my first bike ride since surgery~ several miles along the beach, then up to a bluff and back. It felt so incredible to be active! Yesterday, we went for a long walk along the beach before leaving to come home. I couldn't help but reminisce what trouble I had had a year before trying to walk anywhere, even post surgery. Now I want to walk all of the time!
The weight loss has slowed, just like everyones. I did lose 5 lbs. last month, but all of it was in the first week (from July 23rd to Aug. 1st). Nothing in the last 3 weeks. I had soooo hoped to be at 175 by the time that I returned to school in a couple of weeks, but I just don't think that's going to happen. I am currently at 181.6. Still 31 lbs. to go to my personal goal, although I'm already where my surgeon thought I would be at the end of the 18 months.
I have been so incredibly blessed by this journey. It is still a process, a challenge, and a journey, but my life has been transformed. I feel like I finally have a life again! The sweetest thing this summer was going to my 20 year high school reunion and having people tell me that I look just like I did in high school. Very few of them had ever seen me heavy, since I didn't gain my weight until the end of college. I just smiled and thought, "You have noooo idea!" I have lots more wrinkles and saggy skin, but I feel as good as I did in high school, well, almost!
I don't think I will be fitting into my cheerleading outfit anytime in the near future!
I've added a couple of pics from my birthday on my profile. Take a gander if you wish...sorry they're soo big. I had issues trying to resize them.
Thanks for all of your support, Junebugs. I couldn't have done this without you! Your friendship, words of encouragement, and cyber-hugs have meant the world to me.
Lots of Love,
Kerri

Topic: CARBS vs SUGAR
Alright, here's the question....
When reading labels, do you worry more about the carb content or amount of sugar? I know sugar is part of carbs but do you put a limit on yourself as to how much sugar something can have or how many carbs something can have?

Topic: RE: Getting back to the BASICS....need help my friends!!
Hi Pam~ Oh my gosh, this is soooo the case for me as well!! Ever since I had people down for our family reunion, I have been struggling with the carb issue. I allowed myself some crackers, tortilla chips, cookies...things I hadn't done for a year. I even ate about 1/2 of a cinnamon roll while on vacation a few days ago!
I can't believe how easy it is just to pop something like a cookie in my mouth and eat it at one time. UNREAL!!!!!!
I have always done pretty well with the protein issue, because I have been drinking a 2-2.5 scoop protein drink each day~ 46- 60g of protein, spread over several hours. I've also been having a sf decaf iced vanilla latte almost daily since summer began. I don't like them with nonfat milk, so mine is a little higher in calories. I think you said that's about 20 g of protein.
Can't wait to try your protein ball recipe. I'm always looking forward to new recipes~ anything that will keep me from fast fooding it with hubby. I've also re-cleaned out our pantry to get rid of things that will be a huge temptation for me.
I'm on the train...let's rock 'n roll!!
Hugs,
Kerri

Topic: RE: Weekly Update and WOW!
well, it sounds like everyone is doing really good. Unfortunately, Im stuck. I have been stuck at 188 for the last 3 months. I have been a carb freak as well. As of last week, I am back on the wagon doing protein first then carbs. I have upped my water as well and started working out again. Hopefully I am not done with my loss yet. I still have about another 30lbs I would like to loose.
I have been the opposite as everyone else as far as shopping goes. I am too overwhelmed to go shopping. I guess it still has not sunk in that I can truely buy a size 12 or 14. So when I go to the store I look at everything and always assume it is too small. I have been wearing stuff that was given to me from my sister and mom. Now that I am smaller than both of them, I guess I really have to do some shopping. UGH! I get so freaked out thinking about it.
Glad to see everyone is doing quite good.
