Wow your lucky that your doc allows you to eat that! I know for my surgeon its 1 week is liquid only then 2-3 its pureed then 3-6 is soft. Then after 6 weeks we can start testing the waters and seeing what sits well and what doesn't. Glad you are feeling well though! Hope that continues.

net panties... lol...  I had a flashback from when I had my children and was given those net panties things...  ha!

okay, so I'll just communicate with my nurse when I get there and let her know what's up.  I was not even thinking of postponing!!!!  MAN!  I feel like it's taken forever to get here, and nothing is stopping me!

I am using Unjury.  Here is a recipe I found from someone on a website, and I love the taste of it.  I am extremely picky too....

4oz milk
1 scoop of Chocolate Unjury
1/2 tsp cocoa powder
1/4 tsp splenda
4 or 5 ice cubes

Do it all up in the magic bullet...  makes a chocolate shake.  160 calories/20g protein

I also add a 1/2 scoop of the unflavored unjury to my morning coffee and get 10g extra there.

I am using benesource protein that the hospital recommended. It don't really taste and mixes well with things. I use it in food and with carnation instant breakfast for a milkshake drink. It is cheap and you can get it from walgreens.

Having your period during this time will not really do anything except make you uncomfortable. The dr won't ever even know. and the nurse putting hte foley in will have seen in a million times. Just let them know before hand so there are ready.
I just had my surgery on the 15th and I had my period the week before. I remember feeling lucky aobut that because leaning over and wiping/cleaning takes on a new challenge after surgery.  For sure wear the mesh panties and pads and I am sure you will do just fine. Just a minor bump in the road. It is nothing that you would need to cancel or postpone your surgery for. Good Luck!!

Topic: Protein???
OK, I have tried a couple of the protein powders and already made shakes & I can't stand any of them! Any suggestions on some that aren't to gross. So far I have only been able to get a couple of grams of protein!

Topic: RE: Drains with a Lap Band??
I'm RNY and so I'm not totally sure. I think it really depends on your surgeon. I believe my surgeon leaves one in for lapband and 2 for RNY. Though that is from a distant memory so I could be very wrong!
