Thank goodness for sisters! You are lucky to have that resource. Depending on the age of you children maybe you could rely on friends of the kids to take the kids for an "overnight" after your sister leaves. Neighbors to take the kids during the day. I feel for you as I raised my son by myself for a few years and when I was sick it was hard to keep him happy. Lots of videos and Easy Mac! Make things easy for yourself, easy snacks, have the laundry all done, beds made and everything before. Good luck!

Hi Keishia! Kudos to you for reaching out. Sometimes people get scared and pull into themselves. I am having surgery here in Massachusetts on August 25th and am feeling a bit nervous myself. I had my final appointment with my surgeon today and it's becoming more real. My husband and kids are worried too, which only makes me feel worse. I do know in my heart that I'm doing the right thing for myself AND for them and you are too! I cannot know why you are not close with your husband's family -- if there aren't unusual cir****tances, might this be an opportunity for you to become more close by sharing with them this huge and important change in your life? They might surprise you. Of course, if you think that's not possible, you might be better off not having the pressure of their potential disapproval. Only you can make that decision. In any case, please know that I am out here sending you a big hug and wishing you the very best. I will be thinking of you on the 21st. Love to you, Kim
