Hi Keisha, I am scheduled to have surgery on 8/20. I received some news today that may push that date back some however. I just want you to know that you have my full support as you endeavor to meet your goal. While I and the others here cannot be there physically, we are all praying for you. I do not have family here in VA either, but I have created a little schedule so that my sisters, and neice from the Philadelphia and my best friend from Harrisburg can alternate times to be with me while I am unable to drive. Hopefully you have a few friends from your job or in the community that can support you as well. I believe that your husband may surprise you and be more of an emotional help to you than you think. Take care and stay encouraged. Maria

I hope all went well Anthony. I didn't know the surgery page existed until I saw it under my friend's post who had it done a year ago. I am hoping to undergo open Roux en Y. Yay for you!!!!! I hope your surgery works and is so successful!

Hello!
Is there anyone who shares this date and hospital that would like to chat before being admitted so we can have some real emotional support in recovery from another person actually recovering with us? I am being admitted August 18th at 8:30 to Lourdes Medical Center in Camden NJ. My surgery is scehduled for 10:30.
Anyone close to that?

We share a date. Shame we can't share a recovery room! LOL! Hope all the best comes out of this for you. I am so excited as well!

Yes.. I am also going thru the nerve stuff. Not really about the surgery itself but with the what ifs... for the last week I cry real easy... But today I feel better, more settled. I thoroughly researched this procedure and I really fell comfortable with my decision to have this surgery. So I have been surpised at the emotion I have had in the last week. So sentimental. Like you feel when you see a kodaic comercial. But like I said today has been better. My children are home for a few days ( son 25, son 22 live in cottonwood) and my baby is 16. The boys came down to spend a few day and I think that has helped.
We will see how many times I cry tommorrow.. Any way good luck with your surgey mine is also on the 5th... God Bless... Roberta
Topic: Almost a loser!!!!
Hey all my losing friends!!! One more day and a wake up and I have a re-birthday. I can't tell you the emotions I feel. I didn't get my house cleaned or organized like I wanted to, instead my hubby and friends went to the ocean and crabbed. I sat on the beach and wished my worries into the sea. Tomorrow is a busy day as you all know too well. I have my pre-surgery appt at the hospital at 8am and then I have to drop my son off at my mom's for the week and pick up my puppy that misses me terribly (and I him). Then rush back home to finish preparing for the big day. Then begin my lovely day of being in the restroom with the prep. Oh well, so worth it!!!! Well, my daughter will be posting after her and my husband return from the hospital. Her name is Lea. Well, off to bed and see you all soon.

First of all I am very happy that your surgery date is right around the corner. Congratulation as you journey to your new life. I will be praying for your that all works out well and as I have faith in God it will! Prepare your mind mentally and discard all the negative from others or the lack of support. although I am in California, I send you a daily hug and am standing in the Gap on your behave to the Lord. God has brought you this far and he will not leave you. Trust in him and he will calm your heart and mind. Should you need me, I am an email away! Be happy and free knowing you are doing the right thing.
