Hello all. I am 26, 5'10 and 340 (I think because I've been eating a lot of last meals lately...lol). My date is Aug. 19 for LAP RNY (micropouch), and I can't believe it is here. Although it didn't take me long at all to get approval, I have been contemplating about this surgery for so long that is almost surreal that I'm really doing it. I have no children, never had a broke bone and have never been under anthesthia - so I'm a nervous wreck in some ways. I'm more concerned with the pre-op testing pain and post-op pain than anything. (I'm a big wimp when it comes to prolonging things because I fear the pain - i.e. getting shots, dentist, etc.) But, with some concern from my family and friends, I am finally doing it. It is almost here and I'm still in shock. My fellow Aug. 19 dates and even all others, please stop by my page and I promise to return the love and good wish. Avis, Congratulations on your surgery date! I too have my date but it is later in the month of August. All I can tell you regarding the best relaxation therapy...give it to God, trust him that he will see you through your surgery! All will be ok. I wish you a speedy recovery.
