Hi Denise, I know what you mean about getting nervous. My surgery is Aug 1...coming up so fast. I try to calm myself by focusing on the things that I CAN have following surgery rather than what I can't. It's too easy to get freaked out if you focus on the negative. There are some items on my diet following surgery that I really do like, so I try to have faith that those things will be enough. I also talk to God about my fears and try to have faith that all will go well. I have heard that your appetite changes greatly following surgery and that your physical hunger is less...let's hope that is true so that we will be able to get through the worst during the first few weeks. And remember, the liquid diet and major restrictions are temporary...your diet will resume some type of normalcy after a few months...it will just be healthier and not as large. And so will you!!! Thanks to all of you for the support I have received so far! My Lap RNY is this Friday, Aug, 1. THREE DAYS! It seems unreal. I don't think I could do it without all of the support from others. Thanks!

August 11th, YAY I am soo excited and have so much to do. Getting there, though. I can't wait, I have already waited soo long and fought soooo hard.

Me again!! Funny you mentioned your hubby, my surgery date was going to be for the 4th of August, but that is the day my husband reports back for duty so we made it the 5th so he could have off!! You will be fine, and I'm sure you will be up and running in no time!! Your little ones will be your motivation!!!

MY DATE IS THE 5TH OF AUGUST, I AM SO NERVOUS. MY HUSBAND IS NOT GONNA BE BY SIDE. HE IS ON ACTIVE DUTY IN KUWAIT CITY. I AM SO USE TO HIM BE BY MY SIDE FOR EVERYTHING. WELL WE HAVE A TWO YEAR OLD AND A THREE YEAR OLD. SO I REALLY NEED A QUICK AND EASY RECOVERY. PRAY AND KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED.

Topic: getting nervous
It's only 3 weeks til my surgery date. I'm starting to freak out! Stomach is aching all the time, can't finish a whole meal (which is a good thing) can't relax for very long. What if I can't handle the liquid diet,,the soft foods,,what if I get so weak I can't do the walking I'm suppose to do!!????!! If it weren't for the fact I'm diabetic I would've already called and cancelled. Please help with any words of encouragement I really can use it now. Thanks all!

I really appreciate this wed site - Thanks to all the angels that have sent me an email and put me in their prayers. I feel much better -seeing how many other people have went through this procedure. I know this is the best thing I can do for my health. My surgery is on Aug 4 and continue your prayers for me. I am grateful. Thanks again. I am sure I will be asking questions as time goes on.
