I am waiting for the date to get here. I have been kinda nervous but trying to keep busy with Grandkids to pass the time. I will be so glad to be over and done and home on the healing side. My husband has had a hard time getting off for this date. But I think he finally got the week off. Thank God.

Topic: RE: 2 days to go...any ideas what i should bring to the hospital..
Alysia, you have a beautiful name. i just took basic stuff to the hospital toothbrush, toothpaste, deo, 2 gowns, 1 housecoat, hairbrush. i did take a word search book and another book, but i never even looked at them. i was only there from tues to thurs and to be honest i don,t remember where tues and wed even went. the morphine pump kept me knocked out. so unless you,ll be there a while you probably won,t even need any books. if you are "hot natured" i would take a small fan in case the air conditioning in your room goes out. thats what happened to me, they found me a fan in the hospital but it wasn,t in very good condition but it kept me more comfortable. "Best Wishes" on your surgery and i,ll keep you in my prayers.

Topic: doing good after surgery
i have been home since Thurs 14th, i had surgery on the 12th. everything went extremely well, i know it was all the prayers going up for me, "Thanks Everyone" i appreciate your prayers. i,m having a little difficulty with the diet and some nausea. i really dread meal time but i know i need the nourishement so i really make myself eat WOW!!!!!!!!! what a switch, i,ve never had problems making myself eat hehe. i came home with a little bit of a u.t.i. so i,m really trying to get all my fluids in. i,m a little bit light headed but other than that feeling pretty good. i go back this Thurs to get my staples out, weigh, and hopefully graduate to a pureed diet. i hope no one takes this wrong and i am in no way downing this surgery, but for all of the pre-ops out there. please consider the diet you,ll be on after this surgery, it is one that you are definitely not use to. i guess this has been my biggest problem is the diet and i,m sure it,s because of the nausea. i know i would do it again in a heartbeat but i wish i would have looked over the diet a little more carefully."Best Wishes" to everyone who are pre-ops and post-ops.

Topic: RE: Surgery is a week away - August 25th
Mary - good luck on Monday. I had my surgery in May, and felt the exact same way. I still have those days. I don't know about you, but the reason I did the surgery was because I had tried everything else, with different degrees of success, yet the weight always came back. The surgery does change the way you think and feel about food. I've lost 50# so far, and I truly feel that it's not going to come back. So, you will lose - just don't get discouraged if it doesn't come off as fast as you think it should -- it WILL come off, and you'll feel great! God Bless!
