Topic: RE: HAPPY ANNIVERSAY 8/16ers!
I'm thinking about having a "Sweet Sixteen" party, I haven't been this size since I was a teenager.
Start: 379lbs. Now: 239lbs.
Size 34 Size 18
I don't really keep up with the other stats, but I can tell you I am a happy camper. Down 140lbs, I just can't believe it, I thought I would be one of the people that surgery didn't work for. I am glad I was wrong.
Happy re-birthday everyone!

I think there is something very wrong i'm no dr mind you but i just dont think you should except this kind of behavior from any dr i would seek another dr's oppinion and then see a lawyer. it is his responsabilitie to have follow up care for ALL his patients. you really need to se a diffrent dr its verry important if you have a "leak"in your pouch you would be gaing your weight back due to not feeling satisfied i would see another dr youve come to far give yourself a chance for a new life dont except this

A Kind of Nasty Strange Question
Hi all,
Well here is a new one for ya!
I noticed I have been smelly lately. I went to bed last night and sweated alllllllllllll night long, My hubby told me this morning, no offense but you stink. I had just taken a shower the morning before, So that night I didnt take a shower then when I got up this morning, I stunk! I was wondering if this had anything to do with the weight loss. I have noticed I have lost some more inches. I also noticed a strong smell in my urine, although I have been getting more water. I just thought maybe you all had some insight on it. I use anti bacteral soap and I dont use ''products down there'' It is not a horrible smell just an unpleasent smell
I just thought maybe it had something to do with WLS> I have been having these horrible night sweats also. Hmm another thought...I have been having alot of bodily fluids down there, because my sex drive has been higher CONSIDERLY. I am not sure why. I just got back together with my hubby also, any insight would be helpful
sorry I am rambling!

Topic: What have I done wrong?
I had my surgery on 8-10-04. I lost 67 lbs in the first 4 months. I have not lost any since. Actually I have gained 25 lbs since. Even when I counted my calories and excercised, I was not losing. I finally wrote the doctor and told him I failed and would not be coming back. He just said ok, here is a group that MIGHT be starting for people with eating disorders/ weight loss failure. He never did tests, never tried to find out why or anything. Since last August, he never checked any levels (protein, iron, etc.) I am wondering if he just don't care because he did not get paid for my surgery. My insurance company approved a short limb rny and he preformed a long limb (HE felt it would be better for me- which now seems to not have been better ) so therefor he didn't get paid.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Topic: RE: weight gain
I have not lost any weight since Dec. (4 mo. after surgery) since then I have gained 25 lbs and my doctor doesn't care. He just referred me to a group that might start for people with eating disorders or weight loss failure. I think he doesn't care because he never got paid for my surgery. My insurance company approved a short limb surgery and he chose to do a long limb surgery so they wouldn't pay him. I am now able to eat just like I did 1 year ago before my surgery. I feel like such a failure because I have not ever heard of anyone else who failed like I did. How much weight have you gained? Good luck getting yourself back on track.

Hi there Sandy! You beat me to it!!! I was all set to come and do my weekly post today (even though I've been slacking lately)
Starting weight 359
Year weight- 231
Total weight lost -128
At Goal? Surgeon's 1 year goal was 120 lbs. 18 mos. is 150....so I'm doing well!
Inches lost- somewhere around 63"
Starting BMI 56 (or close to it)
1 Year BMI 34.1 (I think)
Clothing at Start- 5x tops and size 34 pants
1 year clothing- Size 1X or XL tops, size 18 pants
Changes in medications- Wasn't really on any, however, no more asthma, no more sleep apnea, and my blood pressure is now normal.
Exercise? Not really - I guess I'd probably be down a heck of a lot more if I had been...just not my thing...I should try to do a little something though!!!
I feel fantastic, this was the best decision I ever made for myself!!!!
