Hey Norma! Your new pic looks great! You are doing awesome! Keep up the good work! I can't believe it has been a year almost. Time flys! I need to update my pics but I think I will wait til the one year mark. I am actually excited to see the difference. I am wearing a 6p and small tops now (Cannot believe it). I even went to different store because I couldn't believe I was that size, but wore a 6p in two different stores. This has been an amazing journey. I am getting all kinds of attention from people and I don't know how to act. It is so weird! Start wt: 256 Current Weight: 134 Weight I want to be by 1 yr : 130 (Stretching it a little 4 pounds don't know if I can make it) Total Loss: 122 pounds --Marianne

15 days away from our 1yr anniversary...unbelievable, isn't it?! Just checking in with you all and hoping that your progress has been one you give thanks for, as I do with mine. Start wt: 255 Current wt: 138 Weight you'll like to be by 1yr anniversary: 135 (3lbs to go!) for next following 15 days, I'll do the following to reach my 1yr goal: drink at least 1 protein shake a day, walk (at least 30mins a day), will not drink diet coke!, will drink at least 64oz of water... I'm so jealous! Congratulations on reaching goal! I have reached my surgeon's 1 year goal. He said at 1 year I should have lost between 100 and 125 lbs. I have now lost 128 lbs. as of this morning. His total goal is 150 lbs. at 18 mos. which would be February 16. I'm hoping to be at my goal by then which would be a total loss of 184 lbs., which is another 56 lbs. in 6 mos. Hopefully I'll reach it! Judy 359/231/175? -128 lbs.

Topic: RE: Size 8 or just Vanity Sizing?
Sizes have definitely changed since years ago, however I have found that the sizes have gotten smaller....I still have some of those H.S. clothes (18 years, sad I know), and they are a size 22. I can't even squeeze them over my fat butt....but I'm buying size 18s now. Go figure? So it sounds to me like your 10 in H.S. is probably an 8 now...and since you have probably gotten taller, and lost weight very differently, and your body shape is different...it sounds about right. wierd though huh? Wow. 5' 9" and 162. You must look like a model. I am 5' 7" and just hit 168. Everyone tells me I look too thin. Too thin! I never thought I'd hear anyone say that about me. Congrats on your accomplishment. It is all very exciting and good.

Well I did it..I dropped 3 pounds this past week to bring my total lost to 165...I weigh 162 today. I just had my year anniversary and boy oh boy have things changed in the past year. I went from a size 26 to a size 6 or 8 depending on the cut of the jeans. I went from a 3x or 4x shirt to a Medium. Physically I feel great...well usually I do but right now I have Epstein barr virus. I have been sleeping 12-15 hours per day for the last 2 weeks. I am starting school at the end of the month for Computer Engineering..my husband is starting too, we are taking the same classes. This surgery changed my life and I never want to go back. Hi Laura It's been almost a year since my RYN surgery, -168 lbs., now at 124 lbs. I've gone from a size 24 down to a size 4 and with each shrinking size I too wonder the same things you have. So often I say when I can get into a smaller size, wow...but I bet this part of jeans is mismarked...LOL. I'm sure the sizing varies from manufacture to manufacture, and yes vanity sizing is being done by the manufacturers. But the bottom line is...we really are getting smaller with each passing day, though we are the last to see that happening. It doesn't matter what size we end up wearing...it does matter we have lost all that weight and have gained our health and lives back! I still at times go to the larger sizes to shop for clothing...a matter of habit I guess, before I realize I need to go down the rack a few sizes to get to what will fit me...LOL. I love it!! Enjoy shopping, the new you, and have fun going from store to store to compare what brands and sizes you can wear! Hugs Yvonne

It's taken almost a year but I've finally broken the century mark!!!! I'm so excited. I know it's just a number, but I just visited my father in Phoenix and so wanted to be able to share that with him. The last day I was there,, sure enough, the scale dropped 2 pounds and I hit 101!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I can say is praise God and thank Him for the 2 pound loss. I had been sitting at 97.5 for about 3 weeks. Dropped 1/2 pound earlier this week and thought that would be it. My anniversary date is 8/16 so this makes it even sweeter. Thanks for letting me share with you all.

Hi Jacque, I was glad to see your post. You were the first person I ever talked to on the message board when I started this journey and we shared the same surgery date. Congratulations on your success and hope to see you on the WLS grad board after the 16th! Sandy
