The reality is that womens Dress sizing has been "fudgin" for a while now. The point behind this was in hopes to have women feel better in smaller sizes. Designer names like Donna Karen are more closer to the older size forms while her every day live under DKNY you wil find a size 6 is closer to a size 12 in her DK line. The same hold true for designers like Ralph Lorren and others. Some desingers will make clother under a lable for say like WAL-MART and the sizes there are largeu compared to the clothes thay make for the high end speciality stores. So a size 8 in one store even by the same designer will not always be a size 8 in another department store.

Topic: RE: One year today!
Hi Kathryn,
Im a few days late in this post, but happy birthday to us! I feel like I am one year old today. My life changed so much since my surgery. I, like you, had no complications, a wonderful sugeron, and a support group that I attend regularly. I am down 140lbs. I still have about 50 to go, but I am so grateful that I am this close, that if I dont lose another pound, I would still be the happiest I have been in 30 years. I have so much confidence now, I actually went on several job interviews and I got 4 offers. My income has almost doubled with my new position, and for that I owe my surgeon and my WLS friends. Keep up your good work, and I will also. I too, take my vits and protien faithfully. I do have a hernia, so I cant go to the gym anymore, but I do walk.
Have a great weekend, and thanks to everyone out there for your support.

Ya know...I find that sizes differ also from maker to maker. I can wear a size 8 in Old Navy...and a 6 in Ralph Lauren...and a 10 in NY jeans...so it really depends on the maker.

I am so envious. When I started this journey, I said I would not have plastic surgery. It would be just another surgery under anesthesia to worry about and I was not going to have it. Now, one year (on the 27th anyway) later I see I need it & can't have it. My insurance says absolutely no plastic surgery. I can not self pay. But I have not given up hope. After all, my company changes insurance companies every year it seems. Trying to get the lowest rate for us. So who knows, maybe we'll get an insurance that will pay. Meanwhile, I'll just be happy for you & your success.
Hang in there.
PS I lost 108 lbs.

Hello....
I don't post much on here, but I also have an august 4th anniversary!!!!!
I spent about 5 days out of town, getting back to nature with my family.
I tried kayaking for the first time in my life!! I loved it, how peaceful. It was a great week to reflect on my WLS journey and what my life was like beforehand. I am so grateful to my surgeon, to my insurance company for approving me and to the GOOD LORD for seeing me thru...
Continued success to everyone
