Topic: RE: GOALIES
Hey Slender Onceagain,
Well, I'm sure a lot of us could relate to the "naive" goal that we initially set prior to surgery. Let me explain. When reseraching and looking forward to having surgery my goal was 150 and to be able to fit a PERFECT size 10. Well, I BLEW past that goal at my six month mark.
Almost a year out (August 30th 2004) I've reached and exceeded my other goal. So I'm just allowing my body to decide. My highest weight was 229 when I began my research. Day of surgery I was 226. Today I'm 120. However, this is not a true representation of my current weight I had plastic surgery on the 20th of July and I'm swollen. Forgot to mention that I stand 5'2". My old shoe size was 9 current 7. Ring size was 8 1/2 current 5 (had to have my engagement ring resized).
Yeah that's right I weigh 120. Clothing size is a perfect 0. TRYING to maintain this and not go any lower. How you ask?? Well, my doctor wants me to eat. NOT that I don't. So to maintain I'm expected to just eat when hungry and not limit myself. Trust me I've followed these instrcutions way before they were given. I was never on any medication so no meds to lose. I'm comfortable, look great and I'm happy.
Great question.
Peace and blessings.
Marcy

Topic: RE: NEW HERE
I will pray that everything goes great. I think that I prayed more than I ever have in my life the few months before surgery. I prayed that if it was meant for me to have surgery that it would happen fast and I had my first appointment at the end of June 04, and my surgery was August 31st 04. I thought that was pretty fast. Some people have waited 18 months for my Dr. Everything just fell into place. I know God was with me all the way. I couldn't have done it any other way. I did think about running out of that hospital a couple of times! LOL Before surgery I would sit straight up in the bed in the middle of the night and think there is no way I can get my stomach cut in half!!!! I still can't believe I did it! But very glad I did. The surgery was not too bad, the worst part was that I always wake up sick. And pain meds make me throw up and have headaches, so I had to mostly take just tylenol. I stayed in the hospital 2 nights and I had no drains or anything like some people have had. Be sure to wear the leg things to keep from getting blood clots. My Dr. said they were a must. I was sore for a pretty good while, but it was nothing like my c-section I had with my daughter. I was very tired for several months. I feel better now that I take Nascabol, (B-12 gel for your nose) I just put it in my nose once a week. I take 2 Centrum chewables a day, and calcium, but don't take them at the same time. I drink lots of the Walmart brand of crystal light tea with lemons cut up in it. It is so good. Email me anytime, If you email me from my profile I will send you my address back. I would like to keep in touch. I know all the emotions that you are going through, but trust me it will be over before you know it ( I can't believe I am 11 months out today) It will all be soooooooo worth it. Just take it one day at a time. Everyday it gets a little better. Take Care, Lisa

THANKS FOR RESPONDING LISA. I HAVE BEEN DOING MY RESEARCH. I HAVE BEEN TO EVERY INTERNET SITE I CAN FIND. I HAVE RESEARCHED EVERYTHING I COULD ON MY SURGEON. SO, AT THIS POINT, I AM MORE THAN O.K. TO PROCEED. I JUST PRAY THAT I DON'T RUN INTO ANY COMPLICATIONS. HOW DO YOU FEEL NOW? HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO GET BACK TO YOUR NORMAL ACTIVITIES? HOW IS THE PAIN?
Topic: RE: What happened to all the 8/16ers???
Hi! I don't come to this board very often, usually due to a lack of time hehe
My weight loss started stalling earlier this year and I guess I might have lost around 10 lbs but then I found out I was pregnant, so that's a whole different ballgame! Amazingly, I have not gained any weight at all yet although I've been eating pretty much what/where/when I want! I'm due on March 13, 2006 (the day after my bday!)
I think everything's gonna be okay because my weight loss had stalled right around -110 lbs when I got pregnant. I think the stability will be a definite plus in this new journey!
Cheers!

Glad you are doing well after your surgery. Hope you continue to do great.
Topic: RE: Minus 165 and holding. Help!
I think it is just normal to have months where you don't lose as much. Remember your body has to adjust. You will get there. Just keep your eye on the prize. Just think where we would be without this surgery!! Good Luck to you. 165 is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
