Topic: RE: I think I've stopped losing
I had thought I had stopped loosing too but I was retaining water. See "Sodium warning" post for the story. Anyway I went on a water pill for a couple of weeks and I have lost 19 pounds and ten of those were legitimate pounds and not jus****er retention. Could that be an issue for you? Also we have got to get away from the desire to weigh a certain number. I know I'm guilty of it too. I want to loose six more pounds so I can no longer be obese even though I really like what I look like now and how I wear my clothes. It is crazy. Give yourself a break an celebrate how far you have come. Remmeber we have a full two years in which this surgery will help us loose. With as much weight as you have lost I am not surprised that your body is taking a well deserved break. Remember you are okay where you are today. God Bless K.

Topic: A Valentine Question
We all know February 14, is Valentines Day. We all had surgery a over a year. I would like to ask what might be different on that day since your surgery? I know all of you will say sex with your partner is monumental. Unfortunately, this is not the Sex after Surgery Message Board. What are some negative and positive things that will be different this time? I would like to share some with you my support familia (family). Good: I can go to dinner to any place I want and find a place to sit. I have more variety to eat than last year. Our surgery was just over 6 months and my stomach was adapting to a new eating system. I can use a red shirt and not look like a huge tomatoe. Last, I can huge people without them being afraid of being crushed. Bad: It is difficult for me to go to an elegent expensive restaurant because our stomachs can't eat that much. I end up giving away all the chocolates I get for Valentines day. I know it is ok to have some once in a while, but I have gotten used to not having any. The same goes for alcohol drinks. Before, I could have as much drinks as I wanted, now I might have one or two tops. I have read many surgery people that are back to normal drinking. I also know they try to drink wisely about the sugar and carbs. I praise them. I personally lost the taste for it since I stopped in order to lose weight and because the Doc said so because of my surgery. Don't get me wrong I would never change those days for my new body today. I will make the best of it and enjoy that day. There are way more positives than negatives. I made a commitment to living than dying young because of my obesity. Last I would love to say Happy Valentines Day in how you decide to celebrate it. Thanks for sharing and God bless your souls

Topic: RE: Anyone else stop losing a long time ago?
Hi, everyone My surgery was 8/30/2004...down to 170 from 337 originally and trying for another 10 lbs..which are NOT coming off. I had my TT in November 2005 and had taken off 13 lbs more (8 1/2 of excess skin and 5 just because). I've gained that back mostly because I seem to be eating more (a lot more easily too) and have not been excercising all that much due to a bulging disc problem. But...my dr told me to increase my excercise by 10 minutes a day, slow down on the not so good munchies and it should come off. I have an appointment with my surgeon in 12 days and would love to be down those extra 10. More water (which I can actually drink more of these days) helps too. Good luck!!!!

Cyndi, I eat about 1500-1700 calories most days. I don't eat sugar, but I do eat some carbs. I've been thinking about cutting down. Who knows? I feel great, I bet you do too! I looked at your profile and you look awesome! Maybe we just need to stay where we are for awhile and wait for our bodies to adjust. Good luck! Polly

Topic: I think I've stopped losing
I know I don't have anything to complain about. I've lost just shy of 200 pounds. I had lost 200, but my weight fluctuates and currently I'm up 4. I started out at 370 and now weigh 174. I'm thrilled to be here, but I'm 19 pounds from my goal weight. I haven't lost an ounce in about 3 months. Does anyone have any hints about getting these last 19 pounds off? I'd like to at least lose another 10. Thanks for listening! Polly
