I don't want to say the name of the product because as big as the internet is I don't want them coming after me and suing because I hurt their sales. (Hey stranger things have happened. Can you say Oprah and beef) So just be careful to read the labels. K. Reed

Reed, thank you for your information. We all have to still be carefull and read the labels. Once in a while I have made the mistake and bought a frozen dinner that hurt my intestines and gave me chest pains. Can you share what kind of frozen dinner it was? And what the Nutrition Facts say? Take care and let us know how your situation is progressing.

Hi eveyone. Sorry I have not been very active on the boards the past few months but trust me my life has been far from inactive as one can get. Just after Thanksgiving we were given two weeks notice to move! (Again) and this was just after we had planned an extended Christmas vacation of 14 days. So when we had to pack and move and then pack and fly away. Well we are just getting re-settled and I am just now able to find local MD's and get into the swing of this new life. Hopefully this move will be for at least 4 years (at least that is what hubby's orders are for!) In keeping true to form --- I had the unfortunate luck to already meet a new MD via the ER. As some of you know I have had ulcers from even before my by pass. The more serious one was on the connection between the pouch and the intestine.... Well after 18 months that one has finally healed but now I have two new ones and one is bleeding. This is despite taking Solutabs twice a day and staying ever vigerlent with all my meds and not taking ANY NASIDS. This is real hard as I also have arthritis and Aspirin is the only thing that seems to help with that pain. I am also anemic and need B12 shots. To add to all of this I fell and broke my shoulder and will be having surgery on that in a few weeks, as it did not set well. I have tried to read all of the posts and want to say that you all look GREAT and CONGRATULATIONS on doing so well. I know there are some like me that seems to be having some complication still but for me I am doing well despite them. When I had an MRI a few days ago.. the tech keep saying MY you are so tiny and had to put a pillow under my arm to keep it snug and in frame!. HA HA! I am about 130 and lost a total of 68 pounds so far Just 10 more to GOAL! I still am loosing about 2 pounds a month. I am hoping that by the two year mark I wil be at goal MY goal is 110. My MD's Goal is 120. current a loose Size 8 (petiete) BEST OF ALL is that my diabeties is doing so much better. I still take insulin but now it is a total of 30/10 units (Humalog/NPH)a DAY as opposed to the 250/125 (Humalog/Lantus) plus 50 Avanida. when my son was helping with the laundry he held up a pair of MY jeans and said Oh OH! I think we got someone elses laundry! Then said these were way to tiny!. and then he realaised they were mine and just hugged me. As for the question of PS... My younger son was talking with some friends. One had seen his MOM' Boobies! and was taking about how big they were... My son ( not knowing I was in listening shot) very proudly blurted out... Oh Yeah well my mom's come all the way down to here... placing his hands just below his knees! I know that my Insurance will pay for some of it, but I am not to sure I really want MORE surgery. Still I watch the discovery Health Channel every time I see a listing for PS Post GBP. CONGRATULATION TO US ALL! Lisa.

Topic: Sodium Warning
I wanted to share something that happened to me this past week. I had brought some frozen pre-cooked dinners, which were delicious and convenient. I had it three days in a row. I then proceeded to gain 10 pounds in less than a week. The sodium content was anywhere from 50% to 63% of you daily allowance for a person eating a 2000 cal diet. Needless to say the weight gain was a result of water retention. I went to my local doctor. My blood pressure was the highest it has ever been and he put me on a diuretic. I have lot the 10 pounds of excess water weight since Saturday but my blood pressure is still high. So be warned read the labels. K. Reed

You mentioned that your freaked out to put on weight? Me too!!! Technically I've gained no lbs yet...as I lost 3 lbs and then gained them back...but still...it scares me to see that scale go back up when I've worked so hard to see it go down. I just have to remember that there's a little baby in there who needs to grow. I'm sure it doesn't quite feel real yet...but it will as soon as you see your lil bean or hear the heartbeat! BTW - I'm already in maternity jeans...was in them at 8 weeks becuase my regular jeans were just too uncomfortable. Anyway...try to relax about your weight....it will come back off... Kristy

Congratulations Lisa! I got pregnant at 16 months post op and am currently 14 weeks pregnant. I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months! Have you seen your OB or surgeon yet? My surgeon has me on 2x the prenatals, a super B complex and B12 2x a week. The prenatals I take are OneSource Prenatal and were ok'ed by my OB. My OB also wants me to get in 2000 cal a day...which was hard for me so I find myself eating something about every 2-3 hours. Again...Congratulations!!! Kristy EDD 8/6/06 14w0d 254/135/138/140

ISunny, know exactly how you feel. I've always had have 135 in mind, my coc said 150. I wonder why I'm 5'5' and 150 is at the very top for that range. Plus, , I'm not big even boned. I know it's just numbers. I just want to be in the middle of my weight/height range. Yet, I'm having motivation /food issues. It's hard to stay motived with everyone constantly telling you, 'you're too thin already' or 'why do you want to lose more?' Then too, I have a very full wardrobe of 6/8's and do I want to replace it? Here's an idea we got from a nutritionist at our support group. Sometimes, eating more calories will kick up your metabolism......like if you've been eating 1200k a day take it up to 1800. Choose protein and foods low on the glycemic ndex. Have you ever read, THE ZONE'? It's very balanced. 40/30/40. Water, water, water..........Instead of Your regular workout, try walking, running, spinning whatever you do for cardio for 20-minutes 1/2 hour before or after you eat. Does this make sense? Hope this helps. Best, barb

Hi Alma, I haven't been here in quite awhile and I don't recognize everyone. I used to post here a lot but I'm looking for the old faces and everyone's done so well, they're unrecognizable. lol. So ok, I'm the old lady of the group here and I'm here to tell you, you are beautiful! Aren't we hard on ourselves? Looking at your pictures, I was thinking that you were one the lucky ones whose skin tone is still good. So is Denise BTW. You hardly look old enough to be a mom much less the mom of a teenager. I've got some real body distortion issues myself, I'm not judging. I had a circumcual l body lift, brachioplasty ( (bat wing removal) and a breast lift almost two weeks ago. Needless to say, I'm not feeling my best. I look in the mirror and think What have I done to myself&^%##@!!!I paid to have this done to me????????I feel grotesque. My ps has talked to me extensively about body image and weight loss patients. . Plastic surgeons do what they .can but we have to have realistic expectations. No matter how thin we get, we'll never look like a person who's never been MO. Unless you're very young, haven't had the weight on all that long or genetically lucky, most of us have irreparable skeletal damage. If you want to see some very graffic pgotos of the damage of overweight and reconstructive surgery, go to my picturetrail site. http://www.picturetrail.com/members/editMy member name is nanabb . click on the 'post plastic surgery' album. For obvious reasons it's password protected. My password is ps. There now, don't you feel a whole lot better? I hope you can find a way to resolve this with yourself. BTW, the man you're going to marry sounds like a wonderfyl guy. Good luck sweetie. ~bb
