Topic: Just An Introduction
Hi people!
I had lap RNY in August 2004 and just figured I'd introduce myself to you. Surgery has been a tremendously positive experience for me and now my wife is scheduled to have laproscopic RNY surgery this February. Congratulations to everyone who has taken this big step for their health and special congratulations to those who have reached their goal weight and maintained it. For those still struggling with their weight loss, I'm pulling for y'all and very optimistic for you!

Topic: Goal!!!
Well, it's finally come - even with me not being a workout fanatic, and in fact even having a relatively leisurely lifestyle, I've hit Goal!
I'm now a normal BMI for my height, under the weight for thinnerself.com for my age, and looking into my Tummy Tuck, which will probably put me smack in the middle of the Normal range (since 154 is the top of it).
I can't really lose too much more weight, even though I still am (about 2-4 pounds a month), because I would get TOO skinny, I fear. Before TT I am already a 36-28-36, which will probably drop when the TT is complete. I'm wearing a size 6 jeans and medium top (I have a medium frame, it turns out in the end, I couldn't wear a small over THIS ribcage, lol) now and I can *actually* look at myself in the mirror again!
Just wanted to share

Topic: RE: HELP!!!!
Hi Tiffany
I'm sorry you are so frustrated. Are you doing your protein and drinking all your water? I still do two protein drinks a day, drink at least 80 ounces of water and i exercise regularly. i change my exercises frequently so i make sure to focus on the whole picture. I am also on my feet 8 hours a day working. I walk the mall at least once a week too. I do not count carbs, i need it for energy, but i don't go overboard either. Remember , protein first, fruits and veggies next, and then the other stuff. Do talk to your surgeon/dietician, and get into a support group if you can. I hope it gets better for you and you find the answers you're looking for .
Hugs
Linda

Hi Tiffany, I am sorry to hear you have problems losing weight. Have you talked to your doctor concerning this problem? Are you seeing a nutritionist? Maybe you should log your food intake and see if you are eating too much or maybe too little. Remember that if we eat too little our body goes into starvation mode. That was one of my major problems. Don't stop walking. We need to always work out regardless of our weight. Maybe, just my opinion, add some strengh workout. Weightlifting can be good. They say, muscles burn calories. All I said is just my opinion. Hopefully you will get more reponses that can better help you. Good luck and let us know how things are working out.
Topic: HELP!!!!
I had my surgery 08/09/04.
Sorry, My name is Tiffany Trujillo. OK, I had my surgery and it seems as if my weight loss has stopped. It has been the same for the past 7 months. I haven't lost anything. But I did gain 3 lbs.! I am very nervous that I am going to get back to where I was.
I look at other people who have had this surgery and they look GREAT and here I am still BIG!
I went from a size 30/32 top and 28 pant size to a 18/20 top and 18 pant size. So I have lost a significant amount but it is getting so frustrating.
I quit walking because I am getting so frustrated with this!
ANY ADVICE AND HELP PLEASE I NEED SOME HELP!
Can someone HELP me????
Respectfully Submitted,
Tiffany Trujillo

Alma, I read your past post where you mentioned how many kids you had and was getting married. Congratulations. I remember many of us on the board said how great you looked having had 5 kids and surgery. I am the old age of 39 years old. I have been married for 15 years. The wife has had a difficult time with my surgery. ok put away the mariachi. I have 3 kids, two girls and one boy. Well keep on enjoying those tostadas with salsa y know I will enjoy my chips and salsa. Make sure you put pictures of your wedding on the message board. Hasta luego.
