Yes. This could actually be a chemical problem (i.e. hormonal). You need to visit your GYN and talk with them about it. There are medicines you can take to help, but probably you'll need to seek professional guidance in this area. Good luck....and good lovin'! ~Laura

Topic: RE: Gained five pounds over the holiday!
Agh! I did too! However, I have been really watching myself since Monday---and drinking lots of green tea. I like the "3 Ballerina" brand of Chinese dieter's tea. You can pick up a box at any Chinese grocery store or food market. One of the things that I have GOT to get back doing is exercising. I have every excuse in the book not to go to Curves for my 3-times-a-week workouts, but the only person I'm hurting is myself. I am about 25 pounds away from my doctor's goal for me, but I would be happy to just stay here and not gain any more weight. That is going to be harder than I had anticipated, I guess. Good luck to you! ~Laura

Topic: A question about sleep apnea
How do you know if you have it? I know that I snore and I have big tonsils and adneoids but I dont think I have apnea. Is there a blood test that checks for this or do you have to request a sleep study? I have read that if you have it it is dangerous to go under anesthesia. I am kind of freaked out about going under in the first place, and this makes me even more nervous. I see my surgeon on friday so I will ask him, but I would also like to hear from anyone else who has had questions, has apnea and had the surgery,or anyone with any info on this. Thank you so much in advance for your reply, this message board is an awesome support system!!!!! thanks again rachel.

Hi Janice... I have had that problem for a while now... I had to get my testotorene level checked and it was pretty much gone... all the changes we go through we dont think about this.. my doctor did some blood work and put me on some creme and it has helped... get your levels checked and talk to your doctor about how you are feeling Debra 227/205/131 1st surgery/revision/current 8/98 - 8/04 - today

Topic: Gained five pounds over the holiday!
Hi all, I gained five pounds over the holiday. I'm getting back on track but it made me start thinking about the rest of the holiday season. Does anyone have any strategies for coming into the new year either at current weight or below? Any suggestions would be helpful. Also how are you all doing? Do you think you are adjusting well to your new self? Are those around you adjusting well to the new you? K.

TOTALLY horrendous. Every one says "I don't remember you like that." Uhm, right. What's that old saying? The camera doesn't lie???? I have several photos from back then (ONLY several because, well, at 4'11" and 250 pounds, who the hell wanted to see themselves in a photo???? Besides, I was always the one TAKING the pics . . . ) Of course, I WAS wearing a striped top and on the computer monitor it comes up all swirly, but, well, that's what I was. . . no hiding that, you know???? But, Denise, you look wonderful, I hope you feel as good as you look!!! You are so young. I'm glad you did this now! I waited. I'm glad I did, though, the procedures are much more advanced and it's healthier to have the surgeries the way we are having them, and know about supplementation and all, than the way they did it 15, 10 or even 5 years ago! See you on the board!

Pretty much stuck at 75% of goal. I'm 154. 150-151 on a good day! LOL! Eating well, feel good, but - - DARN - - wish I could at least get into the "NORMAL" category on the BMI chart! How frustrating.

Topic: RE: Anyone have Plastic Surgery yet?
Tummy, *THIGHS* and *BOOBIES* (Those girls are headed so far south, they are in a different ZIP CODE than the rest of me!) You KNOW when they are resting on your KNEES that you have to have something done! *AND* I am the same weight as I was when I was 25, BUT my bra size is maybe FOUR cups bigger, just for all the extra skin! The band size is nice (36 or 38, depending on the bra) but still those BIG old cups because of all the extra flesh. The thighs really need to be done too, and the belly. The flabby arms I could deal with, They don't rub or itch or change the way clothes fit. My pants are weird. The waist is OK, but the butt and belly are always tight and I look like I have another butt in the FRONT! So I have to try on a MILLION pairs of pants before I can find one that fits. Ick. I am going to consult in Jan, hopefully arrange financing, and TRY to have the surgery in May or June while my boys are away. I have a wedding up north in September, a trip to meet up with some bulletin board friends in October and a cruise in April. So, after April, but BEFORE September. Let's see what happens . . .
