Topic: RE: 13 months! Time to Check IN,,
Reach your goal yet?
My goal is/was 145. I am at 152, so not far to go. These last lbs are so hard to loose.
What size now?
I started out as a 3x/26. Now 12/14 pants and med or large top. I like my tops a bit full. Have worn a small.
What is my favorite food?
Fish, hamburger(was never a red meat person), fruit of any kind and my ole standby, cottage cheese.
Any problems?
None at this time...did have a bit of a problem eating meat. Just could not get it to go down.
Taking vitamins?
Most days. Not had a B-12 in several months. Do the melt in mouth B-12. Calcium, never can remember it. Did put the bottle by my bed, so am getting better at remembering.
Greatest Wow?
So many! My daughter's cloths are a wee bit too large for me! Met a friend of 30 years for lunch this week and she did not recognize me! Had not seen her in the past 4 months. I HAVE TOES!! Was a good one.
Greatest change?
I really look at myself in mirror. And love what I see.
Plans for PS?
Nope! Not much hanging skin. The girls are flat and hang, but what the heck, they are skinny!
Topic: RE: Starbuck's ideas
OMG, Starbucks! I know where they are all located within a 75 mile radius! First of all, any coffee with half and half is grand and ofcourse sf. I tried the sf syrups, not so good to me, so I stick with the strongest, full/bold bodied they have. Lattes are good, most of the time, I take mine iced, soooo good!
I have become so spoiled by Starbucks, no other coffee tasted good, except Cuban. I make Cuban every morning at home. Pre-op, I would use Eagle brand sweetened milk, now half and half.

Topic: RE: regarding hernia repair surgery
i had an incisional/unbilical hernia that created one large hole that was 10cm wide. my innards were protruding and i litereally looked like i was 6 months pregnant. my surgeon was able to repair the hole without the mesh but he went through an incision on my panty line because he went ahead and gave me a TT at the same time... the only benefit to the damn hernia! i was hospitalized for 4 days and told to recover for 3 weeks. i'm entering my 3rd week now.
your recovery should be a little better since it'll be done laparoscopically... good luck to you!

Topic: RE: Anyone have Plastic Surgery yet?
i just had a TT two weeks ago. i'm going on my 3rd week of medical leave and should be ready to go back by the end of the week. - then again i work from home so it's much easier for me. i'm not in too much pain as i am sore or just uncomfortable. i think the binder is REALLY annoying and ITCHY as hell so i'm looking foward to not having to wear it anymore by the end of next month. i'd say the yuckiest part of your recovery is your time with the drains. they SUCK! and you'd be amazed at how much better you feel the minute they take em out.
i am scheduling a breast reduction and lift (no implant) the first week of january. i'm hoping to have insurance pay for an inner thigh lift (hopefully the beginning of march). these are all procedures my insurance is paying for. i am also considering a circumfrential (sp?) lift (butt lift) and arm lift but not really sure if i want to put my body through all that drama just yet. i do have major skin issues
i'll just take it one surgery at a time...
good luck to you maureen! you'll do just fine!

Topic: RE: I just dont understand
Hi, I will put my two cents in. My doctor recommends Dietary Supplements from Bariatric Advantage as they are made for WLS patients. I take 2 calcium citrate, 400 mg each per day, chew able iron, 29 mg per day chew able multi formula, high in vit A, D, E & K 2 per day and Chew able iron, 18 mg per day. He also wants us to take a B-12 shot monthly.
I have not been getting the injections as I should. I noticed my engery level is low, so need to get myself back on track.

Topic: RE: from eating to drinking
Hi
I am so sorry that you have been through such a horrible time, but am so glad that you are on the right track to taking care of yourself. Starting a new life, and forgeting the hurt is the best way. No one needs to know what you have been through (WLS or Drinking). These new friends you will meet will love you for you. Not the weight you loss. You might, one day build relationships with people that you feel comfortable to share these things with and maybe you won't. Just remember you are a strong person. You realized your problems with food and did something about it and had surgery. You realized your problem with the drinking and did something about that too. Not many people would have that strengh or courage to do what you did.
Some of my friends changed their opinions of me too. They said they were happy about my weight loss, and said I looked great but some are also heavy, so I don't know how sincere there comments were. I am sure most of it is jealousy. Just hang in there. You have friends here that will talk anytime and give the best advise they can. I've needed them a few times and they were there. You are brave and a strong person. Don't forget that.
Good Luck
Lisa

Hi Denise
You look great!!!!!!!!!!!! Your so beautiful. I love your hair and that color blouse is great on you. So glad your doing well. The boards have been real quite lately. Your lucky you got to your goal & lower. I have not reached my own goal of 150 lbs. Still bouncing from 160-164. Oh well, I guess sometimes your body will only give so much. I am still down 146 lbs and that is joy in itself. Keep updating the pictures. Your beautiful.

Topic: from eating to drinking
After my weight loss was so successful my co-workers really began to dislike me, mainly because we were to have the surgery together ,but iI was the only one approved. I was so hurt by the fact that I thought these girls were my friend. That I began to drink heavly. I went from one drink a year on new years eve, to 5 drinks a day everyday. Boy was I a mess i'm finally getting a grip on things. I packed my bags left the booz and the bimbos in indiana and moved. Now i'm happy, drunk free, looking and feeling good. I'm now on a great job and the lovely part about it no one knows I had GBS
