Topic: RE: Those last stubborn pounds...
Hi Laura, I wish I had the answer for you. Sorry, I don't, but I'm right there with you! I have lost 193 since my highest weight and have 22 more to go. I am losing sooooo slowly now. I too need to get to the gym more often. At least I'm not eating the Halloween candy! We can do it. We will get to our goals! We are on our way! Hugs, Polly

Topic: Those last stubborn pounds...
Dear August Friends: I am about 25 pounds from my goal and have slowed down significantly....almost completely stopped losing now. I've been so busy with work lately, I haven't had time to get to Curves for a regular workout routine. Any good ideas for kick-starting my weight loss again? What have some of you tried to keep the pounds coming off so close to reaching goal? Help! ~Laura

Topic: RE: I just dont understand
Cyndi: I was having an energy problem just recently---along with some dizzy spells and slight nausea, but no vomiting. My husband asked if I was still taking my iron, and I realized that I had run out about two months ago! My GYN recommended "slow iron" to take daily. So, I went out and bought some CVS brand slow iron tablets, and I started taking them twice a day. I also take a vitamin C, 2 B-12 tablets, 2 multi-vitamins, 3 calcium tablets daily. Of course, I spread them out over the day, because of when I have to take them. If you're already happy with your other vitamins, then try adding the slow iron tablets. I felt better and more energetic, literally within 12 hours! I hope it helps you! ~Laura

Topic: RE: Anyone have Plastic Surgery yet?
Hi Maureen I am right now in the process of finding a good plastic surgeon for my tummy tuck. I wasn't going to do it until now, i am having major pain in my lower back and hips. The doc says the skin has to go, it's pushing on nerves and hurting me. What i really want done is my neck and arms, but of course my legs are awful and my butt is sagging and so are my boobs. It's a scary thing, but no matter how bad it looks now, it's way better than what it was before wls. Hugs Linda

Hi Cyndi I was feeling exactly the same way, i still do a little. When i went to the doc yesterday to go over my labs, my protein, iron and b12 was really low. So now he is giving me b12 shots and i went to gnc and got their womans vitamins with iron that my doc recommended and i upped my protein. That b12 shot did wonders, and i'm getting back to normal. my doc always makes sure to give me a follow up appt after he does my bloodwork, he keeps a close eye on me. I hope you can get it figured out, i know what a hard time you had and you sure want to keep your health up. Stay on top of this, and make sure your doc starts paying more attention. Hugs Linda

Topic: RE: Losing Too Much?
Sorry I don't read this board much..I would answered earlier. I too was worried I was going to lose too much..I lost 170 in 14 months. My doctors goal for me was 177, I went down to 157...I was starting to get worried that it was never going to stop. I stopped after 14 months..I haven't lost weight since then. I can totally understand your fear...I have had them myself. I was scared to go to the store and buy size 4 pants..I thought a 6 was too small as it was..I am 5'9, but I am still at a 6 and happy with it. I also understand the not working for the weight your losing...I haven't exercised at all since my surgery. I am more active and can do more with my 3 kids, so that is my exercise. The people in my support group say they hate me since I haven't struggled with losing weight, no plateaus at all. I am sure your body will stop when it feels like it is done... Tracey 327/157

I have been looking into surgery...I keep asking myself what bugs me the most....my arms. I am planning on doing my arms and breasts first sometime in the near future. I don't really need the work done...I just want it done. I would love to hear how the arms come out. Tracey 5'9 327/157

Topic: RE: Poll:Are you still losing?
I stopped losing a month or month 1/2 ago. I made my doctors goal of 177 at 10 months out and dropped an additional 20 pounds after that. I am really happy where I stopped at, from a size 26 to a size 6, I never thought I would say a size without a 1 in the front of it. Tracey 327/157

Topic: RE: 13 months! Time to Check IN,,
Reach your goal yet? I started with a lot to lose and have reached the goal I originally set. I have since amended it and would like to lose another 20 lbs. What size now? I started out struggling to fit into size 28/30 and am now in size 12 or 14 in pants and M/L in tops. What is my favorite food? 1/2 a low-carb wrap from either Subway or Raley's/BelAir. I also try to eat an apple or pear or whatever fruit is in season, preferably organic so it is locally grown & vine-ripened, every day. Any problems? I have been stuggling with anemia, but it is mostly due to a woman-problem that should be taken care of this month. Taking vitamins? I am not saying I don't ever miss, but I do carry then with me and most days I remember to take them. Greatest Wow? When I was able to lift up my entire body with just my arms while sitting on a barstool the other day. I am 5'8'' and am not really a light weight, but I was able to do it. Greatest change? I am in love with working out and it is a big part of my life. Even though I expected people to treat me differently, I had no idea how true that would be. I am still adjusting to it, especially since I do not look any different to myself. Plans for PS? Not at this time. There is not enough extra skin that insurance would pay for it, and I am not sure it is worth it to me. The risk and costs are pretty high. I have been pretty lucky, at least with clothes on I look okay.
