Topic: RE: I'm finally normal!
Hi Marianne,
Sigh. You are just so beautiful. I am talking BEAUTIFUL, not just, "looks good after WLS beautiful". I am talking straight up GORGEOUS. You really are. How is it possible that you are even prettier as the days go by? Sounds cliche, but truly, you are just beautiful.
You were striking before surgery but now you are just amazing looking. You should really consider modeling. And I am serious when I say that.
I know I tell you all the time, but you are so, so pretty!!!! Such a smile! You are positively glowing, too. Your hubby must be happy to show you off!
Congrats on achieving your goal, Marianne. I am so happy for you! I remember talking with you earlier in our journies and we were both stressing that we wouldn't hit goal. Look at us now!! WOOHOO!!! I am so happy for you, you gorgeous thing!!!!
How are you doing with food tolerence? Is there anything you can not handle? I am lactose intolerent now, so that sucks, but I am working around it. I lived on yogurt before and suddenly BAM, made me sick. But it is a small price to pay! I still battle with my ulcer and heart burn, but again, small price to pay. Have you had any health issues at all?
Keep in touch!
Hugs,
Denise

Topic: RE: Out of control eating.....
Hi Judy...
I've been doing the same thing. Candy, chips...you name it. The scale is bouncing up and down by 5 lbs. I realize what I'm doing and I am determined to get back on track, as I would still like to lose another 50lbs. hang in there...the urge to binge comes in spurts. You'll get it under control, don't worry. The most important thing is to not beat yourself up...because you know that just leads to more eating. Keep us posted and feel free to email me direct if you'd like to talk....

Reach your goal yet? Passed my goal. It was originally 150 that was when I was being naive. Flew past that months ago!!!! Starting weight was 229 used to wear size 18/20.
What size are you now ? Current weight is 115 wearing size 0.
What is your favorite food these days? Have always loved seafood and still do. But my favorite thing to eat is Honey Nut Cheerios!!!! I'm so addicted!!!!
Any problems still lingering? After surgery I had a flare up of my ulcer. I don't think that it was related to my surgery. After surgery I had to take my Masters Comprehensive exam the studying and then the six hour exam took me down. I've never had any other problem. Prior to surgery I was NOT on any medication and didn't have any pre-existing conditions.
Still taking your Vitms. ? Okay I'm being honest I take my vitamins but not on a daily basis. They make me constipated. I get B-12 shots and take Andrew Lessman multivitamins.
Greatest WOW moment ? While standing in my fiances kitchen I looked around and saw a skinny woman standing in the mirror it was ME!!!! That is when I realized just how much weight I lost prior to that I still saw myself as FAT.
Greatest change ? Shedding my fat body and the great enjoyment of being thin HOWEVER the greatest change was the increased energy and the TRUE enjoyment of looking at myself and truly enjoying the person that I've become.
Plans for PS Yet. if so when: Actually just had plastic surgery July 20th I had a tummy tuck (with hernia repair) and it is FABULOUS!!!! My stomach is the flattest that it's ever been. I can lay in bed and look at my vagina (yahoo) sorry for the graphics!!! But anyone who has ever had a hanging panni can appreciate this "little" accomplishment!!!! I have a nice belly button and the healing continues to be AWESOME. Early next year I'm having Brachioplasty (bat wings will be pulled and tucked.) and breast implants!!!!! the girls have become deflated they are actually missing please call me if you find them.
In closing the decision to have weight loss surgery is one that I've never regretted. I just turned forty last Saturday and could truly appreciate my transition. I feel GREAT and know that I've reclaimed my body. My life long goal is to maintain my healthy lifestyle. I've started seeing a psychotherapist becasue of my ongoing issues with food. I've come to the realization that I'm an emotional eater and I'm terrified of re-gaining weight. I've learned that losing weight is the EASY part however, maintaining my new way of life will prove challenging. However, it's a challenge that I've accepted and will focus on.
Peace and blessings,
Marcy

I'm glad to hear that you don't have to have the surgery afterall and that you are working on it a day at a time. I've wondered how you were doing and I'm glad to hear that your nearing the century mark. I hope things get better....

Any problems still lingering?
......
....... still having problems with meat protiens, eggs, amd MILK as well as ulcers and constrictuers every few months or so.
Still taking your Vitms. ?
......
.......... Sort of.... I needed to have B12 shots cause even with the Vit I was not getting enough. Also the IRON was making me sick so I am having a hard time finding vit, w/o iron.
Greatest WOW moment ?
.....
...... when my oldest Son saw me for the first time since surgery. He was away for the 1st six months... so when he came hoem for Christmas break .... I was down 60 pounds.
His expression was priceless.
Greatest change ?
.....
..... My insulin requirments has dropped 80% My HaC1 was over 13 this time last year normal is 6.7 .....
.... Last Week I was 6.9
Plans for PS Yet. if so when ( and Ya hoo!)
.......... I am hoping for a breast life cause they have gone south and flat, but no plans as of yet. Somehow when I had my surgery I tore my muscle in my shoulder it is still a mess. The MD thinks the extra stress of holding the "girls" up is not helping with the healing so I think My insurabce will pay.
So what is up with the rest of you 8/30's!

Topic: RE: Endoscopy?
Hi Christie,
Like Brenda said , the whole procedure takes less than 20 mins, but you may be at the hospital for 2 hours or so.
I have then done just about every 6 months before surgery and every 6-10 weks since then. ( I have a problem with Ulcers! pre and post op)
The drug used is VERSADE and Demeraol or some combination. You are not asleep but you really don't care and won't remeber much of anything.
You will need someone to drive you.
No change in food post procredure... in fact I have always gone out to eat with my friend after it and even shoping with her. OF course she makes sure I don't do anything wild. Most of the time I just like to come home and plan on a quiet day.
The sore throat is mild.
It has got to be so much of a routine fo rme that my friends and I make it an event. We go to a Hotel close to the hospital and spend the night before having Girly fun. Last time we got massages and stayed at a four star class Hotel, and was pampererd. It beats getting uo at 4 AM for a 6:30 procedure.
I have to have another one in a few weeks and we are going to do another all nighter. Just a girls night out. then after the procedure a few errands and home again.
It will go OK...
My MD always gives me photos of the ulcers!
OH becaause of the meds it wil be almost next to impossible to remember what the MD said so have your friends inthe recovery area with you when the MD tells you the results.
