Kim,
I can So relate to you !!!!! We started at a similar weight.. I am finding myself in the same boat that you are in... I started at 362 and am now at 239...241...244...240... you get the idea... lol... So pat yourself on the back.. you have lost more than I have....lol.. The key is .. you have lost.. not gained... I have to tell myself that If I never loose ( ohh I hope not) another pound I am so much better off than I was just a year ago... I would love to lose another 100 lbs.. but just another 50 would make me happy.... WE CAN DO IT !!!!!
Good luck and keep working at it.. I know I will ...

Congrats girls! Norma, your new px is beautiful.
Sunny, you look so good too.
Who wouldda thunk, a year ago????
At least for me, I read others stories, but I was sure I was going to be the one that it didn't work on. I'm struggling w/ eating carbs right now. I haven't gained but I'm not where I'd like to be.
I had the start of the plastics surgery's the week of August 9th. I'm probably other than both your mothers
so I have a lot more skin issues, I'm sure. I started w/ a neck lift(for the turkey waddle
) and he advised a mid-face lift/brow lift and dermabrasion since there would have been a big fold after the neck lift w/o it. WOW, it's painful. The RNY wans't anything compared to this.
He debulked my upper midriff, flanks and back in prep of the lower body lift. I hope the brachiotamy, & I lbl. isn't as bad. He won't do that one 'til I'm finished losing and stableized. Sunny, I've noticed that even though I'm not losing, my body is still changing and getting smaller. I wish you both the best.

Kim, I read everyone's postings here hoping I could add the right words to help you meet your goal. However unintended, you've inspired me!
Thank you. I've too, have been struggling for the last couple of months, beginning to return to my former poor eating habits. I've got about 20-25 lbs. to reach my personal goal and am disappointed in myself. It's sounds like this is not at all uncommon. Please feel free to e-mail me [email protected] for words of encouragement or a
if you'd like. As Kim said, 50 lbs isn't nearly as overwhelming as 180 which I'm sure you'll agree, a year ago seemed nearly overwhelming.
We can do this
come on sweetie! best regards, barb
"Our anniversary date" messageboard had some of the very nicest people posting at OH. To anyone else reading this here, I love you all.

I totally agree with Norma. Look where you would be without this surgery, we would all be in the same boat (and it would sink) because we would still be fat. We all have done so great. Everyone has times when they turtle, I have mainly turtled the whole year, but I have gotten to my goal slowly but surely. You will keep losing, your body just has to adjust. And even if you don't see it on the scale I am sure you are losing lots of inches. I don't know about yall but with this surgery I can tell I am losing real fat, not jus****er weight. My Dr. always says this surgery is just a tool. I kinda look at it as if my Dr. gave me a paint bru**** is up to me how great the picture looks. Good Luck to all! Keep your eye on the prize.

Topic: RE: I need a little encouragement today.
Everybody,
Thanks for the encouragement. It really helped. I have gotten back into drinking my water and doing extra exercise. So far down two of those pounds. I'm also trying to figure out what it is that I was trying to tell myself with the extra eating. I think that my brothers comment made me angry and made me want to rebel. Like "Who are you to question what I eat. I can eat anything I want to thank you very much. After all I have lost all of this weight this past year without your monitoring everything that went in my mouth." Of course it would have been a lot better if I had actually said that instead of eating to prove my point. Oh well, better luck next time.
Thanks again,
K.

Hi Kim,
Please dont be so hard on yourself. Tool or no tool, you did the 135lbs yourself. You had to change your habits to get that far. I have lost around the same amount and still have about 80 to go. I am losing so slow its terrible. However, I would have NEVER EVER lost this much without the help of the "tool". Even if I dont lose another pound I feel I am a success, and so are you!!!!!!!!!
Hugs to you,
Sue

Today is my 1 year anniversary and I was hoping to be at -100#s but I've only made it to -85. I am not going to let that get me down. Like you know, many people contiune to loose 18-24 months out. I am concentrating on getting those last 15-20 off! High protien and low carbs, lots of water, vitamins etc. We can do it! We came this far and we will finish the journey and keep it fresh in our minds so that we will never return to the place we where before!
