Topic: Dont want to lose nay more weight!
WLS has been the greatest gift ever given to me, and I thank God and the skilled surgeon I had every day. With this great gift, does come daily struggles and emotional issues. What I am struggling with now, is wanting to not lose any more weight for awhile. (I CANNOT beleive I am saying this). I am now fitting comfortably in a size 10. My BMI will be in the normal range if I lose 4 more pounds. My brain is not catching up tp the weight loss yet and I want to give it a chance to. Has any one else felt this? What did you do? ANy insight will be great. Terri

Jo, So sorry to hear about your problem - I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I got this from a lady on the bama board - its GREAT stuff - smells good and made my skin feel good 2 - try it! Dry Skin Cream for wls patients or anyone for that matter 2 - 15 oz Bottles of Equate Brand (Walmart) Baby Lotion 2 - Containers of Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Cream ***I find Vitamin E on the lotion isle in WM. 9 ozs. of Equate Brand Vaseline Mix together very well. What I do is fill the Vitamin E Cream containers with lotion mixture and store the rest in a tupperware container. I used my electric mixer to mix mine. It makes it look real fluffy like pink whip cream. Hope this will help. - hugs - dea

Tina, I know it's so frustrating that the weight loss has slowed down - I feel your pain - its mine 2. I want to lose 30/40 more lbs - but if I never lose another I feel so much better. Hang in there - I believe you and I will both make it to our goals - everyone loses differently - just keep doing what you know we have to - up the protein, up the water and exercise. - hugs - dea

Precious1, I'm no expert - but I try to get at least 70 g a day. I still have a protein shake every morning which averages 30g - my fav is Matrix 5.0 chocolate mixed with 2 tblsp s/f choc pud, carb countdown milk, splenda, 1 heaping teaspoon decaf coffee and blended with ice - yummy! I think we will have to be concerned about protein for the rest of our lives. - hugs - dea(-111)

Welcome to the board Dea! We may not post alot, but we do post at times...lol! I just make it a routine to check here to see if there's any new posts ever couple of days...same with the Indiana board. Can you believe it's almost been a year?!?!? Wow! I'm down 137 lbs. I've been playing around with those last few pounds before getting to 1-dom and it's been driving me batty. Oh well, drink more protein, drink more water! My motto! LOL! Hope your day is going peachy! Sherri 344/207/140

Topic: RE: Protein
Someone asked about this on the main board about a week ago. Most of the responses were 100-120 g a day. My dietician told me at a minimum of 70 g but after what I read, am trying to up mine. People state that they have a better weight loss with higher protein. They also up their water as well. Since I started doing that, my 6 week plataue stopped and I've lost 7 lbs. I drink a pina colada flavored protein shake (46 g of protein), try to have 1 protein bar as a snack (10-16 g) and get the rest with food. I think getting enough protein is something all people (WLS or not) should be concerned about their entire lives...it's just more critical for WLS'ers. My advise? Find a protein drink you really like and then buy stock in that company. Sherri 344/207/140
