It's official, I'm due Jan. 11, 2006 I think I'm still in shock. Wasn't there someone else here that is pregnant? I could swear I remember but I don't want to say who I think it was in case I'm wrong and then jinx someone... I have gone to the postop pregnancy board and I am very nervous about the whole thing, but I'm also sure that it will work out for the best. I've been itching to tell you all. God Bless! Jo

Hi, Sue! I, for one, LOVE your wordiness!! Some great ideas you have shared! Thanks! For a treat, I keep some chilled Carb Clever (Del Monte) sliced peaches around. 1/2 cup has 30 calories, 7 carbs and 1g protein. They are sweetened with Splenda. Topped with some vanilla creme Carb Freedom yogurt--mmmm! Also, fresh strawberries sliced thinly and sweetened with a bit of splenda added to my Carb Freedom strawberry yogurt. The fresh fruit helps the yogurt become for filling. A kind of "bad" thing I have found for me to have around are the "low carb" frozen ice cream-type treats. They help me through "that" time of the month, but when I have them in the freezer, old demons start to stir! Thanks, again, for the ideas! Topic: 8 month update.....
So its been 8 months since surgery and i have lost 126 lbs and am down to 222 lbs... i am so proud of what i have lost... i am in a size 14 regular and in a XL top.... the girls just wont let me lose my top size...lol even though they are nothing but skin... seriously i have lost all of the fat that usta inflate them...lol I have consulted with a PS and he said that in sept to come back and he will put in for body contouring surgery... so that is great to hear. Personally if i stay at this wt i will be happy if i lose 20-40 more lbs before my yr is up that will be even better... I honestly feel 100% better and would do it again in a heartbeat. I am even learning how to run which is quit odd for me considering in HS i had every excuse not to...lol Well guys and gals i really must go i have things to do....later and take care.

Topic: RE: QUESTION
Unfortunately I think I immune to sugar. I have eaten a whole cookie, a soft serve ice cream, a piece of good chocolate (ok 3 pieces once), and worst of all - green apple martinis (yep - plural). This past month I have been very bad... like I am on an extended spring break. Yes I exercised but I could have lost so much more if i hadn't indulged in those green apple martinis. There were too many going away parties at work and I slipped a little more each time. First time I drank 1/2 glass of wine and felt tipsy... by the end of the month... 4 green apple martinis and although I was buzzed, I wasn't falling over. Apparently I built up a tolerance to alcohol and sugar. I'm cutting way back this month on those empty non-nutritious calories this month. What is really bad is I didn't drink this often before surgery... it just has been an active social month at work and then when my fiance came home we had champagne... yes I nursed it but I still had at least 2 glasses. If you can avoid the sugar (and alcohol) do so because I have been having cravings lately that are making me nervous. Tonight I was eating my locarb cracker with peanut butter on it to make them go away. I wanted popcorn or chocolate or something. Now I know it is partly because of that time of the month but I am seriously worried that I opened the pandoras box of "do not eat foods". The ONLY thing that makes me ill is breads (more than just a bite or two) or fried foods. I can't deal with breadings well.

I love the WASA Fiber Rye crackers... 30 calories, 1 fat, 7 carbs (2 are fiber) and 1 protein. YUMMMY! Especially with cheeses. I haven't tried with peanut butter yet but I might soon. I brought a package of them with spreadable cheese and even my nephews (18 months and 4 years) loved them. They ask for them whenever I come over to babysit. Well, the 4 year old does and the 18 month old grunts for them. LOL They are large and filling and very tasty. Another treat is the Breyers Carb Smart Ice Cream Bar. It is not as healthy so I save them for when I really need a fix (monthly). 170 calories, 15 fat, 9 carbs (5 net), 2 protein. The chocolate on it is really good... the ice cream is ok. If I'm really desperate for sweets... strawberries with splenda on them or dipped in cool whip.

Topic: RE: I will never be obese again!!!
Congratulations!!! I have one more pound to go... I'm sitting at 30.0 BMI. GRRR. I keep getting on the scale hoping for that one last obese pound to disappear. My fiance thought it would be gone by last weekend and scheduled a "Laura's not obese party" but didn't tell most of the invitees what it was for. I had my dearest friend in the world stop by with a card (she couldn't go out) and she gave me a gift card in a card that said she was so proud of me. I was so touched. I can't wait until we have the Laura is a normal weight party. LOL He told most of the people that we were just going on a casino cruise for fun... I didn't want him to tell everyone what I was HOPING to celebrate. I hate it when the scale stalls out at an important number. Please move please move ... soon! Laura 330/186/140

Topic: RE: Feeling Cold vs. Summer Heat
Well guys... not much hope. I live in SOUTH Florida (Fort Myers) and I freeze all the time. It is in the high 80s to 90s and I am fine outside but I get into a building and I'm frozen. I keep turning off the air conditioning in the house and find my son and fiance sweating. I sleep with a sheet, blanket and comforter on and lately have worn full length pajamas. I will tell you that I was lying by the pool on Monday - in my first two-piece ever, thank you very much - and when the sun went behind the clouds I had a chill. I don't mind because I think the days of makeup sweating off my face are gone forever. Oh happy day!!!! I carry sweaters and jackets with me alot... they are all supersized but at least I can get away with that when it comes to sweaters and jackets.
