Topic: RE: New hair for a new me!!!
I love it!! It looks great! I too am in the midst of some major changes. I had my hair trimmed and have some blonde frosts put in. I have dark brown curly hair with these blonde streaks. I think it looks good. It looks even better when its blown dried straight. I had my nails done. And I am in the process of going through some major orthodontic work. As a matter of fact I am waiting to hear from the oral surgeon.
But your style and cut looks awesome. And you can see the changes in your adorable face.

Topic: RE: Weird bowel stuff
You are not a weird duck!! Trust me, I've been having problems on that end myself. But I can understand the hurting when you bm. I don't have a problem with constipation or diarhhea but with rhoids...Anyways, I am off topic here.
I think by eating bacon anything excessively greasy or fatty (which bacon is) can cause you to dump. Everyones dumping is different. Excessive sugar and excessive fatty foods will cause you to dump. Try staying away from bacon and see how that helps. Call your doc cuz if you have constipation then you may need a stool softener. And as for Pepto Bismol....thats a big NO NO. I wanted to take it one time and my surgeons office said NO. I think its because (someone posted it above) it has asprin and we cannot have asprin at all.
Can you eat a salad? What are some healthy foods that can loosen up stools? I always thought that green leafy foods would do the trick. Eat some cabbage. That usually does the trick especially if you have constipation. Call your nutritionist as well and they can tell you what foods you've eaten that may be binding. Sometimes too much P.B. can be binding. Sometimes cheese is a binder for some. Every person is different but try calling your nutrtitionist. They could give you some foods to eat to help loosen up the bowels.
I sympathize with you. I truly do. Good Luck girl!

Topic: RE: QUESTION
Unfortunately I have and way way too much of it. Its amazing at how the "old ways" are flooding back. Its hard enough to eat right and stay away from junk food. I dump. I get dizzy, hot, sick to my stomach and if the dumping is really bad, I'll vomit...sometimes it gets to the point where you wish you'd just throw up....Its not a great feeling.
I commend you all with your remarkable restraint. Seriously. Don't even go there. PLEASE DON'T...Don't even wonder because I was doing awesome until I had that one taste and forget it. Old habits (for me anyways) are coming back. I REFUSE to put this weight back on. I don't want to do it. I am scared because I can have some sugar until I start to dump.
CONGRATS! Again, PLEASE don't try sugar. Just eat the good way you have been because its been a b**** to get back to the new way of eating. I haven't totally fallen off the wagon but its definately hard to climb back up on it. So why even torture yourself. I wish I stuck to my guns and NEVER tried it at all.
*sigh* GOOD LUCK! CONGRATULATIONS on your success. You'll do great.
REMEMBER: NO SUGAR! NO SUGAR! NO SUGAR!
Love,
Erin
Topic: RE: This is so embarrassing but here goes....
Thanks ladies. The funny thing is that I never got them with any of my pregnancies then all of a sudden...Whoomp! There it is! LOL....I had a call into my PCP (who is usually good at returning calls...never got back to me) so they finally just simmered down.
Thank you for all of your advice. I guess its a problem that will be dealt with as it comes. I will give them hell though the next time I see them. But my behind is doing better. I just kept up with the cream, wipes and a warm bath soak. I still have them but they are not sore and inflamed like the last couple of weeks.
Thanks again everyone. You're great!

Topic: RE: Daily Calorie Totals
Hi Sandy,
Thanks for posting the link! I'm glad you found the bmr stuff interesting. I just find that it gives me a solid bottom line instead of one doc's theory vs another. Speaking of a solid bottom, I'm going to the gym in a few minutes!
Too bad we aren't all in the same area, wouldn't it be cool if a bunch of us from this board could meet and work out together?
Have a great day!
~Sue

My doctor is very conservative, but I can't argue with success! From the time of surgery til 6 months out it was no bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, beans, rice, or fruit. 70 grams of protein and 30 carbs, no mention of calories. At 6-month visit, same deal except I can have fruit occasionally and limit of 800 calories/day. I probably manage that 5 days out of 7. Hugs, Sandy

WHOA! I'm on information overload right now . . . but in a good way! I've heard of BMR but always thought a doctor needed to determine it. Never knew there were websites out there with all that great information.
Figured out my BMR and was kinda bummed til I continued reading and found out I could multiply it to get the "Harrison Benedict" equation! Who is Harris? I LOVE that man!!! Makes me want to run down to the gym right now so that I can eat more, haha! Now I have a new toy and (in the immortal words of Junie B. Jones), that new toy's name is:

Thanks Sue for enlightening me! I needed something new to obsess about LOL! Hugs, Sandy
