Topic: RE: Question??????????
I did try one from giant and it tasted like" double H hockey sticks"! I threw it away! I noticed that the store does not carry it anymore! What does that tell you?

You can develop "roids" from any type of straining. Are you doing weight lifting or any heavy lifting? I don't know what else may cause them, but I'm sure there are other things. Break down and talk to your doctor. He will probably prescribe stool stoftner (so is not so painful to go) and a steroidal creme that will help more the other-the-counter medication.
Don't be embarrassed. I'm sure it is nothing your doctor hasn't heard before. It is something everyone deals with at one time or another. The main thing is to get treatment for comfort and before you do get constipated from holding it.
Hope this helps,
Sherry
Topic: This is so embarrassing but here goes....
I never had this problem until just the last couple of weeks. I had developed some hemmrhoids. **big blush** Painful rhoids. I have a hard time walking/sitting. Its really embarrassing. Why did I have developed these now?? Could it be WLS related?? Anyone else get these after having WLS?? I am so afraid to "go" because its like shooting glass out my rear. Sorry...TMI....
So I will hold it until I really really really can't hold it in any more. I know that is not good either but I can't deal with the pain of "going".
I am using medicated wipes as well as generic rhoid cream. I have been dealing with this for the last couple of weeks. I finally admitted it was rhoids and just started using the wipes and cream 2 days ago (today being day 2)
I feel so stupid for admitting this and asking but maybe someone can join the blushing boat with me and fess up so I don't feel like a freak. I just don't understand how they just appear....My stools are normal. I haven't been having constipation at all. ***BLUSH****
Any help or support would be very much welcomed cuz I do feel like a freak right now. Thanks gang!
Love,
Erin

Topic: RE: Post OP MRIs. Safe or what?
You should be ok... just double check with surgeon to ensure titanium (which most are these days) and also let the MRI folks know you have internal staples. Just as an FYI... leave all jewelry at home (or in the car).. these places usually don't have secure lockers... just a changing room. Hope the knee gets better... I have a bum one as well and trying to baby it as much as I can.

Topic: RE: Leaving Home!
Sounds fun Marianne! A lot of the foods you mentioned are healthy snacks for the kids too, so that probably works out great! I left home this weekend also, but I'm already back!
It was way too short! Hope you enjoy!

Topic: RE: Question??????????
I found this great "Splenda" cook book at Barnes and Noble last week and it has a formula for making brown sugar....
1 cup SPLENDA Granular
1/4 cup sugar-free maple syrup
total cals...90
cals from fat...0
sat fat...0
cholesterol...0
sodium...30 mg
total carbs 24g
Fiber...0
sugars...0
protein...0
Pour all ingredients into a small mixing bowl and mix well. Use instead of brown sugar in recipes for baked goods. ... Makes 1/4 cup*
This makes enough to replace 1 cup of standard brown sugar. It is best used as an ingredient, not as a topping or eaten plain.
Hope this helps...

Tinaaaaaaaaa!
So good to SEE you
You are beautiful, bald head and all! Congrats on everything going well for you with the chemo and the weight loss, and also for Eric!
As far as the constipation, I think I discovered a helpful thing... maltitol
This is one of those sweeteners they put in sugar free candy that they warn you about because of the laxative effect... I bought some sugar free sal****er taffy while on a road trip this weekend. I ate a bunch of 'em... let me just say that I don't remember EVER being so cleaned out! Sorry if that's TMI. But today is my weigh day at my mom's dr scale and I lost 2.5 lbs!
Just an idea if things get too stopped up, maybe a little legal treat here and there can help? Take care, keep up the good work sweetie!

Topic: RE: poll: what are your favorite foods these days?
Hey Sandy... the oatmeal has 22 gms of carbs... but the flavor more than makes up for it... thats one reason I use all water for mine besodes most of those carbs are fiber related. It has 6 sugar grams which per my doc and nutri. is the max limit on any one food product. I tell you this stuff is out of this world!!!!
I was in your neck of the woods yesterday... did a little exploring and some shopping... lovely town!
hope this helps...
