Wanda - Check out Sue's post above! She loves the same oatmeal and makes hers with 1/2 water and 1/2 Carb Countdown milk and Splenda. Ladies--how many carbs in a packet before you add anything? Everytime I hear about this stuff it makes my mouth water. Hugs, Sandy

Topic: RE: Question??????????
I am limited to 30 carbs a day during my weight loss mode and definitely count the carbs in fruit. My weight loss instructions are NO bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, beans, or fruit. I had no fruit the first 6 months after surgery. At my 6 month appt. I literally begged my doctor to approve of me having fruit once a week til I reach my goal. He said OK! I try to have low glycemic fruits but of course I would rather have pineapple or watermelon! My biggest cheats have been fruit, how sad is that, LOL!
For the low calorie brown sugar you might want to check out a product called Diabetisweet Brown Sugar Substitute. Here is a link:
http://www.drugstore.com/qxp88320_333181_sespider/diabetisweet/brown_sugar_substitute.htm
It says: "Use it just like brown sugar! For baking, cooking, and adding sweetness! Use DiabetiSweet Brown Sugar Substitute to create delicious foods that call for brown sugar. Great for using in brownies, gingerbread, cakes, cereals, baked beans, sauces and other full-flavored foods. Measure for Measure One Cup of DiabetiSweet = One Cup of Brown Sugar. For more information call our toll-free consumer hotline at 1-866-263-9003"
Hope this helps! Sandy

Hey Katie! I've had an MRI since surgey and I didn't even think twice about it, never even called my surgeon. I didn't have any problems with it though, at least none that I know of. Good luck, I hope it gets better for you.

Subject: THE NEW BIRTHING MACHINE
A married couple went to the hospital to have their baby delivered.
Upon their arrival, the doctor said he had invented a new machine that would transfer a portion of the mother's labor pain to the baby's father.
He asked if they were willing to try it out. They were both very much in favor of it.
The doctor set the pain transfer to 10% for starters, explaining that even 10% was probably more pain than the father had ever experienced before. However, as the labor progressed, the husband felt fine and asked the doctor to go ahead and kick it up a notch.
The doctor then adjusted the machine to 20% pain transfer. The husband was still feeling fine. The doctor checked the husband's blood pressure and was amazed at how well he was doing.
At this point, they decided to try for 50%. The husband continued to feel quite well. Since the pain transfer was obviously helping out the wife considerably, the husband encouraged the doctor to transfer ALL the pain to him. The wife delivered a healthy baby with virtually no pain. She and her husband were ecstatic.
When they got home, the mailman was dead on the porch.

Topic: RE: Question??????????
Teresa,
I would count the carbs in fruit. I don't eat fruit or drink fruit juice because of the amount of carbs in them. I don't know about the brown sugar.

Katie,
I think MRI's are safe, but ask your surgeon. I hope you feel better soon.

Topic: Question??????????
Hey guys,
For the ones of you who count their carbs...do you count the ones in fruit since they are good for you or do you just count the bad?
Another question is...does anybody know of a brown sugar that is like splenda?
Thanks
Teresa
