Breakfast: 1.5 - 3 oz Lunch: 3 - 5 oz Dinner: 4 - 6 oz (these are all non-nausea days. when I have chemo I don't eat much) If we eat more for lunch, the dinner has to be less.. basically a combination of 9 oz, we just have a choice of how we split it. On rare occasion we eat an ounce more, but that mostly happens when it's fish. Tina

Topic: RE: poll: what are your favorite foods these days?
Favorite "snack": Whole Fruit no sugar added sorbet. There are 2 flavors: Strawberry and Raspberry. It says 4 servings per container, but they last us a lot longer. Eric said, "Man, they expect you to eat a lot of this at a time!" I busted out laughing and reminded him we use to eat an entire pint of Ben and Jerry's during one movie! "oh, yeah. forgot." {rolls eyes} I don't think we have a favorite food since we continue to find new combinations that agree with our pouches. We still eat a lot of cheese, mostly as a topping. I always keep Cheddar and Mozzarella in the fridge along with a Low-card frozen pizza and Boston Market frozen dinner (Chicken and mashed potatoes) in the freezer. Tina 290/183 Eric 320/197

Topic: Post OP MRIs. Safe or what?
MRIs. Ok, So I fell and busted my arse in my hubby's work parking lot the other day. I landed on my right knee and hand. DH insisted I go to the doc to have my knees checked out. They did x-rays..no broken bones, but my knee is catching very badly and giving out...usually means torn cartilage. I have been through this all before. My knees are awful! Doc has scheduled an MRI on both knees. My question is...are MRIs safe to get after surgery. I know only my knees will still be in the machine, but it makes me nervous with all those magnetic fields swarming around. I am going to call my surgeon. I hope my staples are titanium(non-metalic) and not steel...just wondered if anyone has had an MRI since surgery. -KT

Its ok... your normal... I was on a 7 week plateu in which I lost and gained the same darn 3 pounds that entire time... drove me NUTS!!!! Like the other posters said... it could be menstrual, BM, fluid retention, I think mine was brain fart! Jus****ch your carbs and drink your waters and move... it will take care of itself... it may take a bit of time but it will happen. huggles, wanda

Congrats to you both... I just read a post on yahoo from a girl that had hers done 6 mos ago and she has gained 5 pounds. She admitted that she learned early on how to cheat with it and how to eat around it. I felt so bad for her. You could hear the despair in her words... Keep up the good work ... a loss is a loss is a loss... I don't care how you did or who you gave that pound to... its a goner!!! wanda

I became a rodent on 9/14/04!!! I love cheese... I wish my pillow was made of cheese!!! Cheddar, monterey jack, colby... i'm on it... Shrimps, love those little critters.. Lower Sugar Apples and Cinnamon Oatmeal... This is the absolute best tasting stuff I have ever eaten! I had never eaten oatmeal pre-op... (too healthy I guess) but I eat this stuff every morning... without fail... 1/2 cup water, pak of splenda and I'm all over it! Now ... the only thing I have craved post op is brownies... with nuts and icing... I try to fight it but there are days that I just must. I have tried a couple of the low carb ones but they just aren't the same but I'm gonna keep trying to find a good one... wanda

Topic: RE: Oooh, not a good week
I'm not Jewish but my your passover meal sounded absolutely scrumptious... I hate to cook so I automatically admire anyone that can and does!!! You let us know when and where and I'll clear my calendar!!! (I'm fairly close to you as it is!) Now, quit beating yourself up over that 2 # gain... I think its our time frame... I was on a plateu for 7 weeks and I lost and regained the same friggin' 3 pounds that entire time... I could be at goal by now if it had been a consistent loss. But nooooooooo.... my body had to play games with my warped little head.... then BOOM dropped 5 pounds in 3 days... then back up 2 pounds... no cheating with carbs either... although that is a demon I have to fight every single day! Unfortunately, I don't dump. Dag nab it!!! I use my pouch as a tool and I refuse to deprive myself ... i eat making better choices now. If I want a choco chip cookie... I eat ONE... not the whole sleeve... (did you notice how the nabisco stocked dipped in sept and oct.... yep, that was me! hehehe) Anyway, use your tool... and enjoy your life... we can do both at the same time! have fun with your girls in the rain... you might want to find a place close to a Holiday Inn... just in case! Take pics... And I love the idea of no fluids after 4 pm... and no it would be no more child abuse than making you get up at 2 am would be elder abuse... huggles wanda
