Sandy,
I am right there with you. Within the past month or so I have been up and down (2-5 lbs) with my weight. Mostly b/c we were traveling and I had a lot to drink. Anyhow, once we got back from our trips I realized I had to stick the plan to make my "tool" work. As long as I stay under 1000 cals, I just keep losing. It sucks, but I just wanted you to know I understand how you feel! Also, next Passover have me over!!
My step mom is Jewish, but we haven't done it with them in years since we live far away now. I could really chow down on some latkes or kugel...mmmm...carbs!!!
Good luck on the girlscout trip. It's so awesome that you are going. I hold the memories of the stuff like that my mom did with me so dear to my heart. Have fun!!

Sidenote: My doc told me 1 ounce of alcohol slows the metabolism down for up to two weeks...so watch out gang!

It's about $18.00 for a month's supply - not bad at all, since it is so rich in vitamins!

HELLO, ERIN!! AND SUE BOO!! So good to see your names again, as I have been remiss in checking the boards..........for a few MONTHS....
ANYWAY, congratulations for doing so incredibly well!! You must feel and look great, and your families must be so very proud of you!
I have not done as well, but am still fighting the good fight... down about 75 now, and the doc says at "my age" he does not think I will lose 100!! That really made me mad..........funny he never mentioned this BEFORE surgery!! (Oh, and the age he mentioned is "over 60").
Well, it was a good prod to get back to taking in more protein and drinking more water.........I am determined to prove him wrong.
Erin, I too do not go to a gym, but I do exercise at home....and it is easy and can be fit in almost any time...I often do them in the middle of the night when I get up to go to the bathroom...takes about 20 min, and then I am back asleep. I do sideways leglifts (30 each), situps (40), pushups (20..the girl kind from the knees), and leglifts lying on your stomach, toe touches (12), arm circles (20)....nothing fancy, just gets the blood moving and the lungs puffing a bit....but I sure do feel good. Another one I do is lie on my side and swing my leg HARD front to back...front to back.....made them sore at first, but I can feel a muscle developing.......
Good luck to all of you.....It is great to see familiar names and to read about the successes!!

Topic: Oooh, not a good week
Hi guys and gals! True confessions time. I gained 2 pounds since last Friday, my first gain since surgery. I'm surprised it's only 2.
My downward spiral began with Passover last weekend. After cooking for days, I hosted the sedar Saturday night and I am a great cook if I must say so myself! I made delicious matzo ball soup, brisket, potatoes, charoses (chopped up apples, walnuts, sugar, cinnamon and wine, YUM!), a dense flourless chocolate torte and other wonderful desserts, the list goes on.
Then of course being the Jewish mom that I am, I had tons of leftovers, even after I sent everyone home with "care packages!" So I have been feasting all week. And that has caused diahrrea and tiredness so I haven't been to the gym all week, although I have played tennis twice.
I got things under control yesterday and I am back on track, weighing 166 this morning, up from 164 last Friday. The point of this post I guess is to say that I can completely understand how people lose 75 percent of their excess weight and than stop. The reason the weight loss stops is, I'm sure, because they stop trying, not because their bodies just stop losing!
This week of eating has been seductive and fun. Face it, after 7 months of strict self discipline we are more than ready for a "break." And then when you have that break it's damn hard to get back on track. And then add to that the fact that everyone around me is telling me how "skinny" I am. It would be easy to buy into that and just accept staying in the mid 160's for the rest of my life. I feel great, I look "normal" and eating is FUN!
But, I refuse to fall victim to this. I WILL reach 136 and have a "normal" BMI. I'm going to the gym today even though I REALLY don't feel like it. This surgery was a tool that I chose and I need to maximize my efforts while the tool still works for me. Well, thanks for listening to me vent! And good luck, everyone have a great weekend!
HUGS, Sandy
P.S. This weekend will be hard, i'm going on a Brownie camping trip with my daughter's troop, in the woods, with latrines and tents, the whole 9 yards. The girls did the meal planning and will do most of the meal prep. Lots of carbs! I'm bringing food for myself in a cooler. It'll be a challenge!

I always put on weight right before AF comes. It ranges between a 2-4lb weight gain. You might keep that in mind as well.
I have to agree with what J Goldinger said as well.
So try to keep your chin up. You will lose some more. I finally broke out of a 8 week plateau. I thought I would never lose any more. But it will happen for you. Just keep on eating right and exercise, sip, sip, walk, walk, sip sip and you'll be just fine.

I love my American cheese slices.
I love my fruits and veggies.
(I seriously could just eat fruit and veggies alone. I could easily become a vegetarian but I know I can't...)
I love my beef, chix and pork as well as my fish sticks...As for snacks, I love Beef Jerky (but since I now have braces on my bottom teeth, I can't eat it) and I love EAS Advent Edge Carb Control Nutrition Bars...Cookies & Creme and Peanut Butter Crisp are my two faves.
When I feel like drinking something other than water I love the Crystal Lite Iced Tea and Sunrise Surprise (or something like that)...There is another flavor I like but I'm having a major brain fart right now and I can't think of it. I love the Orange Fruit 2 O also.
I will have a cup of decaf tea with 1 sm splash of cream & 1 Splenda. But that isn't very often.
