Topic: iron deficient
Hi guys Hope you are all doing well today. I went to my doctor last week and he took some blood. All my labs were great with the exception of my iron levels which were really, really low. He told me to take Ferrous Sulfate 325 mg once a day, and I was warned that it would be constipating and to drink lots of water. Anyone else experience this and if so, have you corrected it with the supplements? My cholesterol was great as is my blood sugar now, so that is the good news! Maybe this explains my diziness and tiredness at the gym?? Love, Sue

Thanks Sue I would never have thought about eating baby dills. I guess because I have yet to have a pickle since prior to surgery, and I have always loved pickles! As Susan Powder used to say, "I have to stop the madness" I don't want to go back to being fat, but the evil junk food devil is tempting me to give in. I MUST BE STRONG! Thanks for the suggestion I will try it. I remember that with WW pickles were always a free calorie food. Thanks Marianne

Step away from the Doritos Marianne Believe me, I understand what you are talking about. Do you like ice cold crunchy baby dill pickles? That is great for salt cravings, as is Miso Soup if you like that. Both around 30 calories for a satisfying portion and healthy choices. I have to be careful with certain things as well, or my calories climb up too high. We just have to find that balance between living a normal life and never letting ourselves get back to where we came from. Don't beat yourself up, but it's good that you are facing your concerns early and dealing with it before things get out of hand. I guess healthy substitutions and just saying "NO" are the key. ~Sue

Sandyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy You did it! I'm so happy for you!!!! And I'm completely in awe of your under 30 grams of carbs rule! I can do the exercise, and I didn't eat after 7 pm for over a year a couple years ago, and I think that is an excellent rule, but honey, I can't stay under 30 grams of carbs like that to save my life! Happy century club my friend! Love, Sue

Hi Erica, Congrats on your great weight loss! I do eat fruit. As long as it's in moderation, my doctor isn't worried about it. But you know how these doctors all have different opinions on this stuff. In my opinion, you should try and eat as normally as possible so there isn't a "diet" mentality, but more of a long term "health" mentality. That's just me though, and God knows I'm one of the slower losers here! ~Sue

I found that wheat thins do it for me. Then I decided that I was eating too many so I chose to stop buying them. For the same reason you quoted. I am worried I won't stop and I never want to go back to being "fat" again!

Congrats Sandy! It is great to be in the club. I agree about the exercise. I think it makes a big difference. I joined a gym and do the pool 6 days a week. Its a little more than I want to spend but it certainly paying off weight wise!
