I use the chewable calcium citrate also, it's slightly citrusy tasting.
They do make a liquid calcium citrate, I have never tried it, it is a bit more expensive and as I'm doing ok with the chewable ones I havn't needed to try it. I've found it at The Vitamine Shoppe, I'm not sure if you have one near you but I would imagine most vitamin/health food stores would carry it.
They have chews at the Trader Joe's close by me, even in chocolate flavor but they are calcium carbonate not citrate and per my nutritionist we do not get as much calcium out of them. Anybody's nutritionist tell them different?
Hi Jan. I dug my heels in as long as I could, but I finally switched to the calcium citrate chews. I was having such difficulty swallowing even the Citrical Petites. The chews taste pretty good and are much easier for me to consume on a regular basis. They are more expensive than I would like. I believe Walmart sells them for five dollars and change for a box of 30. That's only a ten day supply since we need 3 per day. But for now, I know I need to get my calcium in everyday and this is how I'm doing it for now.

I also do the Citrical Calcium Citrate chews. They are very good. Yes Walmart has them for the $5 and change, but I found out recently that Sams Club has them, I bought a box of 60 for $9.99. That makes it a little more convenient also so you don't have to buy them as often. I like the chocolate fudge ones alot, I tried the carmel at a protein taste testing meeting at one of our support meetings recently. It was ok, but I didnt like it enough to buy it. I havent tried the lemon creme one yet, but Love lemon so may eventually.

I have a liquid calcium citrate w/ magnesium as well. Cost: ?
Bluebonnet Liquid Calcium Magnesium Citrate, it has an orage flavor but still feels kinda chalky but not horribly so.
2 TBSP has 1000mg of calcium citrate 400IU of Vit D (important for absorbtion of calcium, and 400mg of Magnesium citrate.
ANd I have a chewable Calcium Citrate Cost: $13.19
Calcium CItrate Chewable Wafers w/ magnesium and Vit D by Twinlab
4 wafers are a serving w/ the same measures as above but w/ 500mg of Magnesium
I got them from my Health Food Store that our bariatric program has worked with from the beginning. The owner knows alot about our vit needs (as well as others needs). His mom and dad owned the store when he was a boy and he grew up around this all his life.
My program really pushes the whole vit thing. I've been a naughty girl but I'm getting the hang of it slowly but surely.
