UPDATE FOR BOTH OUR PATS!!!
Hi everyone!
I went by and visited with Pat S today, she is feeling better. She has an ulcer in her pouch that was causing all the blood loss. The Dr. is going to try and treat it with medication. She will also be using a walker to walk and has to wear special space boots!! on one foot and another kind of boot on the other foot since she messed them up in the fall. She still doesn't have much of an appetite, but is hoping that she may get to come home tomorrow, maybe at home she can eat some decent food!! She sends her best to everyone and thanks everyone for the calls and the post!
Now for Pat C. I am really concerned about her. First of all, she sounds so disheartened, and is questioning herself regarding the choice she made to have the surgery. She is still in pain, and only the meds they have her on will ease it. The Dr. came in today and said the leak test came back fine, but told her that part of her bowel is in her incision. YES, you read that correctly. Now, this worries me, and has Pat deeply concerned. The Dr. really didn't offer any explanation, other than a blockage that needed a place to go and attempted to find its way out through the incision. This makes no sense to me! Pat said he hasn't ordered any other test, and she wonders why, especially since the Dr. made this assumption. She is unable to eat anything, and continues to dry heave even if she drinks water. If you all get a chance, please give Pat a call, and let her know you are thinking about her. The number is 336-718-8441. I told her that everyone on the site was thinking of her, and she wanted to let you all know that it was very much appreciated and that she loved you all.
I will update tomorrow on both Pats!! Take care, Barbara

Thank you Barbara..for the updates. They both need our prayers and support. I don't quite understand the situation with Pat C..hmmm.. through the incision. I hope she gets some relief and answers soon and is able to come home and get on with life. Thanks for the update on both of them...I'll watch for another. (((Hugs))) Jeanie
