There are thin people who have sleep apnea, as well. After surgery, she should follow up with her pulmonologist to try weaning off the c-pap as she loses weight. If the apnea is obesity related, it will be cured, if there is another underlying cause for it, she will have to keep the C-pap.

Hi Joyce! I didn't have sleep apnea, either... but I knew 4 or 5 post ops that did and they were all cured of it. Some got off their C-pap in about 6 months, one at a year and one at a year and a half post op. I guess it depends on the person, the severity of the sleep apnea and how it affects them.
