5k. OMG I am so nervous. I was on fire with running until a month ago and then we moved to Ga from Colorado that has gotten me off track. My goal was to run a 5 k last year but i never really knew if i could do it. For christmas I got the Nike + thing that goes in your shoe and tells you how far you are running and keeps track of it. seems I really was running about 3.5 miles a day. I know im going on and on but Im really insecure about doing this. I will be running alone as dh has no intrest in exercise. (another frustrating story but will save my rants for another day!!!) So please say prayers. That I finish decent, That i dont chicken out for fear of the unknown. That I dont get lost on the course. How has everyone been doing? I made it to goal for a whole week then keep hanging out around 129-131. I have an unsatified need for sweets and no matter how much i say I am not going to eat them they seem to find their way into my mouth. I am freaked out about how much it seems like I eat these days. but then It seems i eat about as much as my 5 yr old so that is better than what I ate pre surgery It seems easier to monitor dh food than my own. I hate all this extra skin but want to hold off on surgery for at least another year. I am dreading going to the pool. Why does it seem I care more about what other peope think now than I did when I was fat? Well I went off in another direction didnt I. anyway Keep me in your positive thoughts this saturday! Good luck with the run. Try a tankini for a bathing suit. They can be flattering and still hide the loose skin pretty well. They are certainly more attractive to a young woman than a 1 piece but not as "out there" as a bikini.

Thank you both for your positive thoughts. I will be getting a tankini but They just dont cover up my knees Where I have really bad hanging skin. Oh well I still feel great. AS for the race I drove the course this morning. I feel a little more confident. as I have never competed for anything before. I was worried that I would follow the wrong person or get off the course or some other dumb thing. Just the fear of the unknown. Has anyone else ran a race before. any tips. I usually dont eat until after I run but they wont be done with the awards and such until like 11am. Again thanks for the support. Hope all is well Leann

I have sagging thighs, but I just bought 3 tankinis for a cruise in size 10 and boy I WILL wear them. I will put "blinders" on myself to ignore the sagging thighs. Put your own "blinders" on at the pool about your knees. Most people tell me that the sag is worse in my eyes than in reality and so is yours. Even with sag I dare say the we look a heck of a lot better thin and saggy than fat and paunchy. Good luck.

I kept meaning to post and update but ......time got away! I finished!!!!! I ran the whole time. my time was about 31 min. being my first race I didnt pay enough attention to the clock. It was just to cute to hear my son say as I came around the corner "yeah mommy you won!!!" That right there was priceless! It was very motivating and I am looking forward to doing another in March. It was encouraging to know there were more people behind me then ahead of me. Alot of people were walking and running alternatley(sp?) It was such an awsome wow moment for me. I Tried to check you and Mikey out this past friday. But after about 10 min I just couldnt keep my eyes open such and old lady lolImy son has been waking me in the middle of the night hes 5 then i cant go back to sleep).....It sounds like yall have so much fun. I lurk alot there but dont ever participate. Sounds like yall have such a tight group. Im sure going to VA help solidify that! lol One day I will get involved there. Thanks for checking up on my results have a great weekend! Leann

Leann Congratulations on your weight loss. I also get a little nervous about the amount of food that I can eat at times. I do stay away from the sweets due to I dump. I agree with the other poster on a tankini for a bathingsuit. Many stores will let you mix and match tops and bottoms. I have also heard that they hide a lot of the extra skin. Best of luck on your run on Saturday. Keep positive thoughts and YOU WILL BE ABLE TO COMPLETE the RACE. Think of how far you have come over the last 14-15 months. How hard you have worked and how many huddles you have over come. I will keep positive thoughts! Janet
