I had my gall bladder out years ago. If it is done laproscopically, you will probably be sent home the same day. I was back to work within a week. Not that bad of a surgery and the relief is felt right away.

Hi Amy,
I'm having my gallbladder removed tomorrow! I knew going in to this, that it was a possibility to have it removed at about 6 months out. My six month anniversary was this past Sunday. It will be done laproscopically (hopefully - at least that's the current plan....). I would find another hospital if it happens again. No need to deal with incompetencies.
Good luck.

Mine was removed during WLS. My doc said it was standard procedure for him, since it usually has to be removed later anyway because WLS is so hard on it. I had open RNY but he did say that it could be removed laproscopically if we went that route. So if you do have it removed check into having it done lap.
Hope you're feeling better soon,
Karen

Hey everyone this is Amy. I am just after 6 months now. I started having an intense pain in my right side just under my ribs. I saw my PA today and he said I had a HOT galbladder. He has me scheduled for a CT and an ultrasound tomorrow at 11am. He said after that he will then know on the next step of what to do. If it needs surgery or not. Ok this is the first for me, never had this before anyone have any experience with the gall bladder issue? I am just alittle scared. I mean who wouldnt be somethings broke and it hurts. So I guess I am glad this doctor has figured out that it is my gall bladder. I went to ER yesturday they told me it was nothing and sent me home. I even blacked out and fainted in there parking lot and they told my husband to get your wife something to eat she probably just has low blood sugar. So all in all I am scared of the ER now. Or next time I will go to another hospital.
So back to the gallbladder issue, anyone have any experience in this?

If you're not having the expected outcome with your surgery, the last thing you should do is cancel a follow up appointment with your surgeon. Call and reschedule your appointment right now. It could be that your surgeon didn't make your pouch small enough or some other type of complication.
Again, some of the same questions I asked Casey...how much protein and water are you getting each day? If you're not getting enough, it's possible your body has gone into starvation mode and is conserving everything it can. Have you tried Plateau Buster?
Please be careful and make sure your ankle is completely healed before beginning exercise again. The last thing you want or need is a recurring ankle problem because you're trying to push yourself too hard.
Blessings,
Jennifer

I am having the same problem!!! I am not, however, on any meds. I dont know what the problem is. I had my 6 month appt w/my doc last week, that I cancelled b/c I was so embarressed about this. I absolutely dreaded thinking about stepping on that scale. They wanting to see a big difference, and I know I am not. i have been the same size, possibly fluctuating b/t 4-5lbs every week. This is just crazy to me. I have, just this week tried changing my eating habits to see if I see any changes. On Sunday, I was still afraid to get on the scale. I just do not want to be disappointed. I think I am going to wait till this Sunday to see if I see a difference. I Started back exercising hard last week on Last Wednesday, of course, I feel and spranged my ankle. So for now, I am not doing any exercising, but trying to let my ankle heal. It is like I cant win for loosing!!!

Casey;
What anti-depression med are you on? Have you tried the Plateau Buster diet? How much protein and water are you getting each day? Are you keeping a food diary?
Anytime I stall for a week or more, I really re-evaluate everything I'm doing and go back to basics by increasing my protein, water, and exercise. By keeping a food diary, I can look back on good weeks and bad weeks and see if there's any trends.
Blessings,
Jennifer

I had my surgery on 11-10-06. I started at 228 and I am now at 152. I have lost a total of 76 pounds. I am a slow loser but I am still losing. I lost 3 pounds last week. I had just recently got off a stall. Hopefully I will continue to lose even if it was slow. I started out in a size18-20 and I am now in a size 6/8/10- depends on how it is made. Mostly 8/10 in pants. M/L in shirts. I am happy that I am finally losing again. My goal is 125 so only 27 pounds from goal.

Hi casey
Yes that does seem like along time to be in a stall. allthough my doc told me that stalls are a good thing. I was in one a few months ago and I'm in one now. Its seems like every 10 or 15 lbs I go into a stall. I really hate those too. I hope you start up soon.
