Topic: Coming up on 6 months!!!!!
Hello fellow November WLS surgery people! We are coming up on our 6 month post-op... Can you believe it?? Get your tape measures out and check your inches lost, get a weight loss total, and be ready.. I will do a roll call for inches/weight totals starting next weekend. If you don't have pre-op measurements, you can measure the waist of pants that you wore and bras or if you know someone who is that size, you can ask to measure them to get an idea what your old measurements were. Catalogs also often have a list of measurements that correspond with various sizes. Please take a little time to think about where you were pre-op and where you are now.. emotionally, spiritually, physically... your outlook on things. Post some of that to your profiles so others can see the wonder of you and the new you that is emerging. I am so proud of you guys and gals... Be good to yourselves.. you deserve it!!! Blessings to you all!! Jacki K from PA 283/196/175 surgery date Nov 4, 2005

Topic: RE: Waiting........
Hi Joyce! I didn't have sleep apnea, either... but I knew 4 or 5 post ops that did and they were all cured of it. Some got off their C-pap in about 6 months, one at a year and one at a year and a half post op. I guess it depends on the person, the severity of the sleep apnea and how it affects them. Tell you friend I wish them the best of luck and I'd do it again in a minute. Blessings, Jacki K from PA

Not always, There are thin people who have sleep apnea, as well. After surgery, she should follow up with her pulmonologist to try weaning off the c-pap as she loses weight. If the apnea is obesity related, it will be cured, if there is another underlying cause for it, she will have to keep the C-pap. I hope that helps! **hugs** Janet

Topic: RE: I HAVE A DATE!!!!!
I have this problem... here is what I do I started ,measuring my food carefully...... There were many times I was not eating large enough portions. I also started sipping water *exactly* 15 minutes after I finish a meal. When I have PMS I still get extremely hungry. I make sure I carry extra items with me that I am alowed to have (cheese sticks and beef jerkey) that way I am not tempted to grab a bag of pretzles, cheesies or some other high carb and fat snack from a vending machine. I hope that helps. **hugs** Janet 300/270/215/150
