I had Lap RNY 11/18/05. I'm 5'2, starting weight on surgery day 305. Current weight 218 (-87 lbs), goal 140. I lose about 3 pounds per week. My surgeon said my weight loss should not slow down for quite some time as long as I stick to eating 3-4 ounces per meal. Sometimes I find it hard to eat such a small amount anymore, but I'm trying to not stretch out the pouch prematurely. Sounds like everyone is doing great so far! Let's keep supporting each other! Jen

Topic: RE: I can't stay off the scale!!!
Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am a scale-aholic. I had to reply to this one since I too weigh myself a bit too often. For the first three months, I wouldn't even put a scale in my bathroom - prefering to wait to see what my surgeon's scale had to report. Then I bought a beautiful new scale with all kinds of bells and whistles, and I swear it calls to me! I tell it no, but it lures me to it with the hope of seeing a lower number. It's great if I get on it a day I've lost, but if the number happens to have increased...ugh! I've lost 86 pounds so far - surgery date 11/18/05. Biggest problem right now....hmmm...probably getting enough protein. I do try to choose protein first, but I just don't think I eat enough. I've never liked protein shakes and rely on my food intake for protein. Happy Easter everyone! We attend church on Saturday evenings, so I've already attended Easter services this weekend. The message was all about the miracle of the Third Day. Blessings to each and every one of you! Jen

Topic: 5 Months - New Photo, Reflection (kinda long)
Good Afternoon! I hope every one is enjoying this beautiful day and a peaceful Easter (or Passover) weekend. Today is 5 months since my RNY and I (with some guidance from Michael) just posted my new photo in my profile. If you have a moment, please take a look. It's the first time I've ever had the same hair color and cut for two months in a row. I really can't believe how far I've come in such a short amount of time. I started in a XXL top and 20/22 bottoms. Today in my photo, I'm wearing a M top and 14 bottoms. It completely amazes me that I've lost 73 lbs. and even more amazing to me is I've got only 43 more until I'm at goal. This morning, my mom and step-dad arrived in SA from Michigan. They hadn't seen me in two months. My step-dad says I look like a completely different person. (He's only known me for 3 years.) My mom kept going on and on about how great I look and that I'm so beautiful. Then she threw in the "well, you were beautiful before" so as not to offend. Even though my BMI says I have 6 lbs. until I'm not obese anymore, I feel great the way I currently am. The coming month should take me to weight I haven't seen since before my wedding in May 1997. I am so thankful to God for all the wonderful things in my life, for giving us His son as our Savior, and these days, especially for my surgeon, the support of those around me and this amazing tool that I've been given. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 180 / 137 Cross-post to Texas and Light-weights Message Boards.
