Topic: RE: Dumping
I think that I will just keep thinking that sugar will make me dump, and not test it. I am afraid that I will get into too many old bad habits.
I do dump if I eat too fast, another old bad habit, or too much.
Topic: RE: Dumping
I can eat both without dumping, but the fried foods don't sit well (I haven't tried much though, so I'm not sure if there is something that will make me dump!). A lady in my support group had surgery 6 months ago, and she dumped for the first time 2 weeks ago when she had a bite of a birthday cake! So it still may come...
Topic: RE: Slow Loss?
I've lost 70 lbs since 11/7/05. I thought it was kinda slow but would have loved to have lost 81 by now! I lost 24 lbs before surgery so for a total of 94 lbs since last august I am stoaked! I think 81 lbs is great. Keep up the great work!

Stephanie;
Congrats on signing up for the 5K. I just did the Komen 5K last Saturday and it was great!
The only recipe idea I have for you is mozzarella cheese sticks. I buy the frozen ones at the grocery store and keep them on hand for when my hubby is out of town. (I don't cook, so when he travels, I'm scrambling to find something other than protein bars and shakes to eat) If your kids are like my nieces, they'll be thrilled.
You're doing fine with your loss. Your surgery was 2 weeks after mine and we've lost about the same amount of weight. Be patient, you didn't put all this weight on in a few months, so you can't expect it all to fall off this quickly.
Blessings,
Jennifer

I can eat some fried foods without a problem. Sugar is a problem for me though.

Well Stphanie, that's a hard one.
I don't know what you're eating
now. But here ya go! Oscar Meyer
makes a 'light' weiner. Try rolling them up
with a slice of ff cheese and dipping
them in mustard. You can cut them
up for the kids.
Use small corn tortillas (sp?)
spread some canned or cut up chicken,
add ff cheese and salsa.
Angel hair pasta with a few
shakes of parmesan and low
fat margarine.
Tomato soup with 1/2 a
grilled, not fried!, cheese
sandwich.Toast the bread first, then use
ff cheese.
Make a pot of veggie soup and add
a lb. of ground white turkey. I do
this once or twice a month. I add corn,
frozen peas, cut up potatos,
a can of stewed tomatos, ketchup and
a little sugar to taste.
(I also use LOTS of cayanne pepper!)
It freezes well, so I always have a
quick meal on hand when I don't feel
like cooking.
I could go on!...
Hope this helps!
&
's, Janet~

I sure know what you mean about being at the same weight. I just can't seem to lose any more. It's been awhile now. I am scared that I'm not going to lose anymore. I really can't help you with any recipes at all I don't know what to eat half the time. I do eat lean quisuins spelling is wrong I"m sure. like you said I am happy with the weight I have lost I just thought it would just drop off all the time. I have lost 75 pounds and gone from a 24w to a 18 reg. but I want more.
oh well we will get there I hope.

Topic: RE: curious about how much you're eating
Hi Dana,
My nut says I should be taking in 900 to 1200 calories a day. I'm Bad! I average about 620 a day. I take in between 87 -120 gr's. protein, less than 10 gr's of fat, and between 30 -56 carbs., and about 47-56 oz's of water(I told you I'm bad). I have never tried sugar~and I won't ever try it. I don't need to know that. As far as I'm concerened, if I eat it I will be very sick and wish I were dead. I weigh myself every two week's and average a loss of 8 to 10 pound's each time I weigh in. I eat 3 meals a day that are about 2.5 to 4 oz's per meal. I hope this helps.
God bless you,
Annette

My dietician also told me to get between 900- 1000 calories a day. I had to up becuase I would be burning any where from 300-500 calories exercise and anything less put my body into starvation mode.
