Topic: feeling frustrated...but happy overall
I am so glad to read all your posts. I had surgery 11/28 (started at 276) and have been stuck at the same weight give or take 2 pounds for the last 3 weeks. I am stuck at 67-68 pounds and don't get me wrong, I love where I'm at and I'm not depressed or scared that it's not going to move but dang it, I'm frustrated! I'm not the picture perfect role model, little shy on the water but do pretty well on the protein. I'm not challenged by curves anymore so I'm talking up walking and have signed up to do an 8 week training to do a 5K run for breast cancer awareness. I am bored with food, but I eat. Nothing really sounds good, but I eat. I would love some ideas to spice up my menu (keeping in mind I'm a full time working mom of a 2 and 6 year old - finicky eaters). My hair is just starting to come out when I bru**** after a shower....not handfuls, just strands, but they add up when you have thin hair to begin with.
So...to wrap this up

I mainly eat protein. I try to get it from food, not drinks. Sometimes I will add protein powder to something to boost myself up. Then I'll add something like a little apple, or veggies to my meal.
I try to stay away from pasta. It fills me up to the point where I am miserable.
I have not been tracking my calories and protein grams. Shame on me!
I'm still losing an average of 10 pounds a month and I'm happy with that.

ive had a gag reflex for as long as i can remember. i take my pills with food.. literally. i chew up something really well and right before i swallow i tuck the pill in to the wad of food and it all goes down in one swallow. now im able to take pills i never thought id be able to. i take 150mg of effexor daily and those are pretty good sized. good luck, i hope youre able to find a comfortable way to take your meds. =)

im probably the poster child for what not to do after wls, but im down about 70lbs with 25-30 left to go. i dont drink my protein, it makes me gag and i rarely get in enough water. most people say i eat too much veggies and carbs and not enough meat, but as long as im losing im ok with it. i eat pretty much whatever i want, just in really small amounts. if we go to tacobell for dinner, i have half a taco instead of nachos and tacos and a burrito and a soda, etc.
i guess the whole point is, as long as your dr is ok with your weight loss, try not to compare anything with others. including your weight, weight loss, food intake, etc. we're all different and we have to find what works best for us. congrats on your success so far! youre doing great.

im down 70 lbs since nov 15th surgery. only 25 left to go. i was a lightweight to start with. =) congrats on your loss.

I am right there with you. I eat anywhere from 860-1000 a day. And I have learned that I can eat junk so I really have to watch myself. My dietician said I should be eating no more than a 1000 cals, at least 20g fat, and 100 carbs a day. I know for a fact that I am to high on fat infact mostly in the 70-90 range daily. My matrix protein drink has 22g so I'm over 20g first thing in the morning. Oh and I don't quite get in the 100g of carbs a day. Most days around 70.

I'm just curious for those of you tracking your calories/carbs/fat/protein, how much are you all able to eat now? My calorie consumption has gone up over the past couple of months from around 700 to 1000 per day. Am I eating too much?
I'm getting all my protein in and sometimes I don't need to drink a shake to do so. I need help on the liquids still though! I'm still losing weight, but it has slowed down (as expected). I've also found that I can eat just about anything without any complications (even sugar, darn it!!).
Just curious where you are all at and if I need to make some changes on my end.

Thanks for the kind words.. but dont let me fool ya! My hair is coming out pretty darn good and I DO (for most part) meet my Protein goals. It was thin to begin with .. I had to get a perm to give the "appearance" of
hair.
but its like a rite of passage. Happens to us all so I am not sweating it. I know its temporary. If it gets to bad I will wear a fashionable hat or cap!
I think we all have done a great job here!
