Congratulations on your weight loss and inches lost . I too have slowed down, in fact the scale has not moved in over 2 weeks. I have been exercising alot more lately though so I hope I am losing inches this month. Marnie

Janet; Your body might be evening out from the 30 lbs. pre-op weight loss. How many grams of protein are you eating each day? If you're not sure, track it in fitday.com. It's a great resource. You could be stalled because of not getting enough protein. For me, the more protein I get, the faster I lose. My weight loss has slowed way down since the end of January. I'm still losing, but instead of 4-5 lbs./week, I'm lucky to shed 2. I'm relieved I'm still losing. I'm struggling to get above 50 g of protein a day. When is your next appt w/ your surgeon or nutrionist? You should discuss your concerns with them as they are way better experts than the rest of us. I wouldn't be disappointed, you've lost 75 lbs in 7 months. That's pretty impressive. Plus, think of it this way. The slower the loss, the more time you have to really hone your tool and get past the head hunger and all that other stuff. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 189 / ???

Shannon; Congrats on your 85 lbs! Are you eating protein dense foods? Eating carbs increases your craving for more carbs. Protein dense foods will keep you satisfied longer. Also, try drinking more water. I've had a few days where it seemed like I'd eaten a horse, but when I logged everything into fitday, I'd barely eaten 700 calories. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 189 / ???

Terri; Try Milk of Magnesia. If I notice I haven't "gone" all day, I take a dose at bed time. The next day, all is well with the world again. No cramping or anything. I've definitely turned a corner recently. Pretty much since I got to Onederland, I've been as regular as can be. I don't know if has anything to do with Onederland, but I'm happy things seem to be working themselves out. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 189 / ???

Thus far I've been a "lurker" but I thought the "great weight loss total" needed my 66 pounds added in. I'm at 214 pounds and cannot wait to get into ONEDERLAND. According to the measurements I've had done at Curves, I've lost 38 inches. And I agree, shopping in the "regular clothes" stores is wonderful. I'm trying to stay on budget though and am therefore incredibly grateful for a super friend that gave me her 18's, 16's and soon to be 14's. She lost 50+ pounds on weigh****chers and is now in a size 12. Aren't friends wonderful! Now if I could just cure this stupid constipation ...

Had my surgery 4 months ago today, I have lost inches and my clothing sizes are dropping, but I have only lost 45 lbs. I feel like 45 just isn't enough......... and I have been gaining and losing the same 5 lbs since I weighed in at 3 mos post-op. I have no problems getting in my food water or protien, I exercise when I have the energy (had really low b levels when I went to the dr 2 weeks ago, energy level is getting better) Nutritionist says I am doing everything right.... so why am I not losing enough? I am really dissappointed, should I be? Thanks, Janet Janet 300/270/225/150

I'm always so glad when there's a post like this because it's comforting to know I'm not the only one! First off, congrats on already getting down to a 10. I'm wearing a 10/12 top, but my butt is still in a 14. I live with an anxiety disorder, so I have greater issues than just not being able to see my weight loss. I'm scared that I'll go to the misses department (that's what they call the non-plus department, right?) and someone will tell me that I don't belong there that I'm too fat. So, the only new clothes I've bought have been online. That way, I get to try them in the privacy of my own home and don't have to be worried that someone will treat me like I don't belong. One of the things I'm doing to help me wardrobe wise is Coldwater Creek here in San Antonio is hosting Fashion for a Cure on 3/23 in support of the Komen Race for the Cure. I'm attending that so someone who doesn't have a preconceived notion of what size I was and currently am can direct me. It really sucks when you don't have a good girlfriend to help you out with these things! I can't see my weight loss if I look in a mirror, but I can see it in photos, so I reference those A LOT! It is totally strange to me when someone I know reacts to me differently though. I guess because my point of view is from the inside, I don't feel I've changed, but last weekend we saw my husband's cousin (he hadn't seen me since 2 weeks pre-op) and he just kept staring at me. Finally after about an hour, he said "Um, have you lost a bunch of weight?" Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 189 / ???

I had this problem when I lost weight before. Here is how it was explained to me by an eating disorder therapist. Your brain can not register the image difference as fast as your weight is coming off. That's why when you look in the mirror, you still see the same Laurel, even though she is much smaller. Your brain will catch up, it just will take a while. Nancy H

Hi, yes I do the same thing I actually went shopping yesterday and I found I went from a 24 to a reg. size 18, I was so surprised. I don't know why I was surprised I mean we are losing weight. and when people compliment me I don't know how to take either I get a little imbarresed.
