Topic: RE: 4 Months out - 1 Lb a week!
WOW thanks for posting this - I was so frustrated with this! I too work out 6 days a week - HARD at the gym - eat only like 2 MAYBE 3 times a day - take my vitamins - I suck with water and need to work on more protein - but I too am only losing like a freaking pound a week. Im 22 yrs old...I started at 321 3 weeks before surgery and 312 at surgery which was 11/2/05 and Im only down to 255.5 granted this is 96 pounds from my highest - only 87 since surgery
Im thrilled - but GIVE ME MORE MORE MORE please!!! lol I feel like I work really hard at this and IM obsessed with health and fitness - sometimes I look in the mirror and still see FAT - granted Im over 200 pounds still - but UGH!!!

Topic: What did you do this weekend???
I had such a great weekend. We went rollerblading at Kent lake, and walked the nature trails. It was great! I haven't been able to walk the trails in a couple of years. The swan's were nesting. We got to see one lay her eggs. There was another swan couple building their nest. It was amazing to watch them working together. The Gobi's(sp?) would perch right on our hands to eat seed. They like walnut's better than seed. I saw a grey squirrel for the first time in my life. Maybe it was just getting old. We also saw a squirrel that was grey and red~awesome! We took the "long" trail. It didn't seem that long to me. It was only 2 1/4 miles. There was a part where we came to this rather steep hill, I didn't think I would be able to make it to the top without stopping, but I did and I wasn't even out of breath. It was funny because I climbed up the hill and was standing next to my daughter looking over the lookout thing(don't know what it's called) when she said ok where's mom and started walking back to the hill. She was surprised that I was standing right beside her. I Am so happy to be living again, instead of just existing!
May God bless you all,
Love ya,
Annette

Topic: RE: FRUSTRATED ABOUT SLOW WEIGHT LOSS
I know how you feel, I had my surgery 11/15 and I have only lost about 45 lbs since surgery.
I exercise daily, eat right, get plenty of protien, and eat very little fat or carbs.
It kills me to see others who are 70 or more lbs down already, I am EXTREMELY happy for them, but it *really* brings me down.
I keep being reminded that I lost 30lbs pre-op,
and that my surgeon's post-op diet is far more progressive than most. My nutritionist assures me that even though my short-term weight loss is not as much as others, my long term will be the same.
But it is frustrating.
Sorry I don't have any miracle advice,
but I hope it helps to know you aren't alone!
**hugs**

Not sure what my average is, but started at 291 at consult, was 283 the day of surgery and 229 today. Goal is 140 and I'm having a hard time comprehending that I'll get any smaller than I am now.
